I bet this vette can pull a 1G or better on skid. I have driven a 800+whp vette and it feels like a rocket. Amagine this thing from the factory. Amazing. I can't wait to see the LaMons version.

Who said they can't handle? Saying they'll outperform everything under 100k is what I find taking it too far. Wait for the car to come out before you bench race the hell out of it.

I wouldn't consider that bench racing - I'd say it's putting 2 and 2 together.

How many cars under $100k can hang with the regular Z06?

Now how many < $100k cars do you believe stand a chance against a 620+hp 'Vette with the biggest carbon-ceramic brakes to ever come standard on a car?

There will likely only be a handful of cars at ANY price that'll keep up with the ZR1.

And thus we come to the "more horsepower != better" debate. Granted it will be fast, we shall see if it has no competition in lap times on an actual track.

It's foolish to even suggest a "more horsepower = better" debate is taking place. The ZR1 is MUCH more than added HP.

GM took one of the best performance cars ever (Z06) and improved it in every way that matters when it comes to performance. Not only does the ZR1 have more HP and torque, but it also has: better suspension (Magnetic Selective Ride Control that is automatically adjusted every millisecond), dual-plate clutch, better/wider Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires engineered specifically for the ZR1 and the biggest carbon ceramic brakes ever put on a car.

Heck, replace the 620+hp LS9 with the 505hp LS7 and the ZR1 would still be an awe-inspiring vehicle.

Exactly, as we will see if "magnetic selective ride control" actually makes the car a better performer won't we. You don't need to tell me how much better it is that x car or y car, my point is, we shall see if it doesn't have competition when it's released. Proof or nothing.

BTW I'm quite certain it will be the best in it's class, I just hold off on saying it until it's been proven.

Well the brakes alone are what...a $20k option on Ferraris?

But yeah, I wouldn't pay $95k+ without the LS9, but I might pay $85k ($15k over the price of a Z06 all of the above is a deal).

Part of the fun of "car chat" is talking about how you expect soon to be released cars to perform (within reason). It is definitely within reason to expect the ZR1 to perform MUCH better than the Z06 (thus the reason for it being created).

There is a difference between reasonable speculation and blind guessing.

TBH, we have seen the opposite be true as well. Remember the old camaros? Mustangs? (80's did hell to them)

Evo X? (though I love the Evo X).
