Want to drive six high end exotics?

On the same day? I was recently able to drive six "exotics" for a day, Ferrari F599, F430, Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, Mercedes-Benz Mclaren SLR, Aston Martin V8 Vantage and the Corvette Z06. Had a gig covering the event for Bloomberg News. Quite a good way to drop $1,300 IMHO. Even though you never see a track, it's a pretty fun experience. The 599 was one of two in the country. They also have fly-in events like in Vegas. Full article and pics:

599 one of two?

I saw two at the Atlanta Ferrari dealership 3 months ago.

No, it was a freelance gig I picked up but I'm sure I'll be doing more work for them in the future. Wasn't a bad way to spend the day and get paid for it!

or you can work for a Porsche Ferrari Maserati and Aston Martin dealer and sell them. I got sick of driving those cars, as Jeremy Clarkson said on an episode of Top Gear, the C*ck-o-meter would be off the scale. 3 things suck about this

1. driving that kind of car on the local roads under the speed limit blows
2. everybody else on the road tries to speed up to see you and look at the person who is driving the dream car completely ignoring what's ahead of them or that they have been chewing up the line and are swerving into your lane. Some fools even try to entice you to streetrace- most aren't very fast at all, they just look good
3. It's just a car- seats and a steering wheel, no trunk, bumpy ride. Some women who see you in this car will throw themselves at you even if you are a troll. They are called "golddiggers"

You know, some say the glass is half full, not half empty.

Where I live, a Ferrari barely gets a second glance. They're almost belly button cars. Everyone has them. Except me

Exactly, if I ever had the money to afford a Ferrari I'd probably go with an old F355 spider with the 6-speed manual. A real joy to drive, my uncle used to have one and I was in love.

So u pay 1,300k for a short test drive of a few high end cars?

In vegas at least u could rent one of those cars for the whole day on ur own with no watchdogs for that price.

One of my last kills in my Evo was a F355. The Ferrari dealer is just down the street from where I work. At the next stop sign the owner with the look of supprise looked at me and said nice car.

Actually it's an all-day event and there's a big difference between renting ONE car and experiencing what it's like compared to driving six high end cars back to back. That's the whole point of the "exercise", to provide something that just wouldn't be possible otherwise. It's quite telling to jump into the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, then to the F430 and then say to the AMV8. And he changes cars to include whatever the latest/greatest car is. There's also a track day package that will be offered. Apparently they're acquiring a Veyron for that along with a Lambo Reventon.

There are more and more of these sprouting up, and as far as I can tell CarandDriver's one is the only one that has a Porsche...

I hear ya Mr. Stock - this deal is not about getting the fastest lap around the Nurburgring, it's about actually getting to feel and drive cars that the majority of the population would be lucky to see.
You get together with a few gearhead mates for a day, enjoy some major head-swelling, get some nice pics. Then at the end of the day talk about how you would have tore that car apart - if they would only have let you.
If you do this again, wait until you take the GT40 for a spin - or the GT3. Gotham Dream Cars are great (they don't have a GT40 though).
