New Galant?
New Galant?
Hey guys, I was at the local mitsu dealer yesterday to pick up a part and when I was leaving I happened to be walking out as they were taking 2 cars out of the garage. They were badged as Galants but the rear of the car was completely different than the style we're used to seeing. It had rear tail lights styled very similarly to the new 08 Lancers, with a long horizontal shape at an upward angle towards the sides of the cars but they had less of a Mazda6 feel w/ the circular internal elements and had a large squarish section of clear for the backup lights. Sadly my camera on my phone is broke, so I couldnt get pics. I came home to look for pics of the new galant, but I cant find any anywhere
Its not listed on the Mitsu website and I cant find any pics. Can someone else locate some and shed some light on this?

I saw the new galant at the DC Auto show. Inside its pretty much the same. Looks like an exterior makeover is all that Mitsu has done for the new Galants unless there is a new powertrain package.

I've been curious about this for some time too.
I'd like to throw a Galant hat into the ring of new car possibilities for the wife.
The current Galant Ralliart isn't too shabby actually, especially with the prices to be had, but I'm thinking she'll hold onto the car, which is already long in the tooth, and it'll just feel old that much faster.
I wonder what engine for the new Galant? Other than the "world engine", I don't know what other new engines Mitsubishi is working on.
I hope they think about AWD too. I don't see why Mitsubishi can't market that angle like Subaru does.

Hmmmm, so just a "refreshening". I thought they were closer to something completely new. But then again, that doesn't make a whole lotta sense since the Lancer line is kinda the focus right now.

Its not too bad looking. My father is looking for a new car, may have to suggest this to him, he likes the Mitsu warranty but theres already an OZ and a Ralliart in our driveway...so no more lancers at my house unless its an Evo
