Well from what I read on the M3 forums is this..

1. Most of the cars will be crushed
2. Anyone who had a car on order can either:
a) if the car had less than 3% damage, bmw will repair it and offer it for slightly cheaper.
b) the customer can choose from another bmw thats already in the country
c) place another order for one and wait it out.
3. the cars that are left over, that weren't damaged bad enough to be crushed, will be repaired and used as employee vehicles.
4. or those same cars (from # 3) will be sold as certified pre-owned cars, and the dealer will disclose full history on those cars.

I'm not 100% sure how accurate that is, i'm going off memory here lol..

I think the going price/starting price is in the low 60K. But the new 4 door door M3 is starting at 57K.

I read an article on Car and Driver and it says that the new 2 door is like 4 or 5K more then the IS-F and the IS-F is going for 59K. But the 4 door M3 is about 2K less then the IS-F.

I already posted that info and link earlier in the thread if you want to re-read it...if you're spending all that money, might as well get the coupe!

I recently test drove the M3 sedan and was not impressed. The car feels heavy and the engine sound is muted.

Why pay $70k for a car that is basically a slightly lighter version of the e39 M5 which you can pick used for $30-$35k?

I highly recommend driving the 135i...I'm almost obsessed with that car now - and this is after I hated the pictures online.

I liked the new M3 - good test drive, having to keep the revs a bit low.

Anyway - Going to test drive the 135I in about an hour - will report back.

Buyer beware. Dealers routinely fix and dont report delivery damage. This is why you should always do a very thorough walk around before purchasing a car.. even a new one. Look for mis-matched paint texture, broken putty welds and scratches under the car. Think of how many Evos get damaged on test drives.. do you think they crush them or discount them, hell no. They fix them and dont tell anyone about it.

I like all the new offerings from BMW, the 1 series with the turbo seems like a good choice.

The M-3 is a heck of a car out of the box but if I had to start all over I will get this:

BMW 135i +juice box+ full exhaust+ coilovers and optionally I would put a rear LSD.

With the above combo you should outedge the M-3. The 135i brakes as good or better than the M-3 stock, it isa little slower stock but with minor mods can be faster and a set of coilovers(bilstein ps9) would do the rest.
