Pretty biased considering that the GT3 was the only car with traction control on. The test was done in cold conditions that plays better not only for traction on the GT-R but also power.
Honestly, It is just a bunch of smoke at this point.

I'm not sure how to take your post. Are you stating that the show intentionally did the testing when it was cold to exagerate the GTR's capabilities? I find that a little hard to swallow...
Fanboys unite! The GT-R is equally fast, if not a teenie bit faster than the 997 TT and GT3 (the GT2 is a decent bit faster than the GT-R, but...) The GT3 is ~106k, the TT is ~130k, and the GT2 is ~180k if I remember right. The GT-R BEFORE markups is ~75k... I'll take the SLIGHTLY slower car (compared to the GT2) for more than half the price please. And I WORSHIP Porsche.
Here's some ACTUAL Ring track times:
7:40 --- 161.22 km/h -- Porsche 997 Turbo, 480 PS/ ??? kg, Michelin Cup Sport tyres (Motortrend)
7.39* -- 161.58 km/h -- Porsche 997 GT3, 415 PS/1395 kg, *(quote sport auto 05/06)
7.38* -- 161.63 km/h -- Nissan R35 GT-R, *company test driver Suzuki, slick cut tyres, track partially wet
7:44* -- 159.83 km/h -- Nissan GT-R, 473 PS/1724 kg *company chief engineer Kazutoshi Mizuno
I'd still rather have a 997 TT, but that's because... I love Porsche. But what's really cool is the cars that the GT-R is in the midst of. That sub 8 min list is intense.

Fewer parts = less money (except in the case of the RS and the GT3) Its just like the GSR and the RS Evo here. 2 turbos and the AWD up the price quite a bit, not to mention the spoiler on the Turbo is a little more advanced than the GT3 spoiler (though no more "advanced" than the base model spoiler, it just isn't fixed).

Same list I looked at (obviously). I was REALLY surprised at the lack of Evos, and really surprised at the plethora of Porsches, there's like 7 997 GT2s (I didn't really count, but there are a bunch)
... Someone needs to take their Time Attack Evo over there so we can see what it does
7:42.9 - 160.21 km/h -- Corvette Z06, 500 PS/1319 kg, Jan Magnusen, (Sporbilen, jun,26 05) http://www.supercars.net/Pics?vpf2=y...ID=1384471&l=d
Just FYI. Fastest time on that list for the Z06. The ZR1 is the more likely competitor.
