GT-R Vs GT3 Vs M3
Assuming it beats the Z06..........then that comparison would be in order.
But considering they have similar HP, near identical price tags, and both bend over near all the competition...........
I think Z06 vs. GTR would make the most sense..........

The way the track conditions/temps were I think the GT-R would edge out the Z06 if we are comparing stock rubber. Put compound R tires on the Z06 and it becomes a whole different beast! I think the Z06 would beat the GT-R. Not by much but as most track guys know It regularly beats the Porsche GT3 when running on R componds tires. BTW the GT3 comes with R's on it. Like he ponted out I also think the the GT3 would have gotten some better times if he could have warmed up the tires a little better and it would have been much closer race.
I can't wait to see these cars tested together again ( Z06 and 08 Viper included ) all on the same rated tires as it is pointless to compare cars when some are running a street tire and others a track tire. Tires make a world of difference and anybody that RR's knows that. Oh and some warmer track temps would make for a better overall test......should be fun!!
Bottom line the GT-R is a very fast car and when you condsider what it weighs it does seem to go against the the weight vs Hp law.

And I agree 150% on testing cars with equal tires. As that can indeed make worlds of difference. I think all track tests of cars should be done with factory sized RA-1s or a similar decent level R-compound tire.
