This is a very nice looking car, and if I wasn't into AWD, turbos, and etc. I'd definitly be interested. Put it this way, if I ever make enough money to have 3 or 4 cars, this would be my daily driver w/ an EVO as my race car. It is so amazing to see the car market these days, there are some really impressive cars (New and Used) available these days for $40,000 and under, more than I've ever seen before. Too bad the economy is in the crapper. But if I was in the market for another car to go a long w/ my EVO IX, I'd have to choose between this (2008 Pontiac G8 GT and-

2008 Mitsubishi EVO X
2006 E46 BMW M3
2006 Mercedes C55 AMG
2007 Cadillac CTS V
2007 Dodge Charger SRT-8
2007 Chrysler 300C SRT-8
2008 BMW 135i
2007 BMW 335i
2006 Pontiac GTO (Can get one for like $25,000)
and others

So many nice cars.

I went and sat in this thing today and almost died. It is so freaking georgeous.

I'm a sucker for a turbo and some nice AWD which is why i would love to own an Evo, but when you sit into an evo you just go "eh, not bad, same crap as my lancer but hella uncomfortable seats" the only thing that can bring you to buy an evo is knowing that i has so much bang for the buck.. however for 10k less than an evo you can own a G8, which has ALOT of BANG for the buck, not so much agility.

After watching that Top Gear video i was crying to see how much it owned the euro cars in the face, sure they are alot more agile around turns and such but when it comes to 0-60 and 1/4 miles, hell any straight away this thing will eat them alive for half the price. And you know what, there is no sacrifice to the interior. The leather is so soft and the seats just make you melt, the interior is superb and makes you feel like youre sitting in a REAL car, i dont think i felt anything plastic anywhere you'd actually touch. The only thing this car does NOT have is navigation and a music server, something id miss but for 32k fully equipped the G8 GT has more than enough *** and luxury to make me not care if i get lost or have to put a CD in.

The G8 seems like an amazing choice for someone who wants a drag car and a daily driver in one package, but its also been proven that this thing can hold its own on a track. Though we all know if we want a true track car EVO is the way to go

I need someone to help me clear something up, the GXP is the port of the VXR8, so on that video he says its going to be 35,000GBP which is 69,000USD.... wtf?

Now the version coming to america is slightly detuned from the VXR. VXR is putting out 420hp GXP 402hp which as stated in the article is only 41hp 16tq over the GT... What else would it come with to justify such a DRASTIC increase? i could see paying 35000USD for a fully equipped GXP compared to the 32000USD fully equipped GT, but nothing more. And to top it off the VXR is a 6.0L, the GXP is a 6.2L.

Hell an even better question is what the hell does the VXR have that the GT doesnt to justify double the price?

All i know is, i want that blue!

Considering i dont know **** about tuning i thought id ask this question. We are getting the Detuned Vette engine with the GXP, so wouldnt it be possible to retune it to pushing out vette numbers without changing anything from stock parts? If so whats this process take and how much would it cost?

pice has not been announced yet , IIRC the intake and the Ex is diff than the vette's "for packaging" . 402hp is not ASE cretified "yet" and the ls3 is freaking great responding to mods .
