not really much to say here other than I was at the book store over the weekend and stopped to check out the car magz as usual and saw the new Pontiac G8 GT ( i think it was car & Driver, could have been Motor Trend)

very very aggressive styling and 361 HP V8. No Manual as of right now, but GM says that there will be a Manual version available shortly after release. From the review and testing that I read, and seeing the car, i think it is safe for me to say it is the wife's next car....

Im curious as to if they will drop a GXP version, possibly supercharged...thatd be ****

Btw down under they all ready have this car and they are runing LOW 11's with I/E/CAM/TUNE/Full weight/pump gas and same car went 10's with less weight

 

wouldn't say its aggressive. Aussie version IS aggressive, but as usual damn GM had to make changes to the exterior

 

I have a buddy who is BIG into Pontiac's and he's been talking about this car for like the last 2 years.

They had it lastyear and this year at the Cleveland auto show. Its a pretty sharp looking car I think but not really my cup of tea. To each is his own though.

I think the G8 GT is pretty cool. Impressive power and times (high 13s) for a 4100 lbs car only costing $30k base. would rather wait for the GXP though

 

I had a 1975 GrandPrix with a 455H.O.

Ill take that car again over this piece of plastic crap with a de-tuned vette engine that is going into everything these days.

Odd that the HP (402) would be less than the SRT-8's 420-ish hp

 

why would 2 different manufacturers necessarily have the same power?

Here's some photos of the G8 GXP. I think it will be a fun family hauler. After watching Jeremy Carkson drive the VXR8 on Top Gear can't wait for a test drive. Do you think they'd be pissed if you drifted the car through every corner.

Just read a few new reviews on this car. I'm definitely impressed. Motortrend did a comparo with the G8 GT against the Charger R/T and the G8 is faster and handles better. They clocked it at 5.3 0-60 with the six speed auto and something like 13.9 on 1/4. Just think what this car will do with the 6 MT and some of the tweaks guys down under are doing. I think GM might have hit one out of the park with this car. Never thought I 'd be interested in buying an american car but this just jumped to the top of my list for the new car next year.

Almost gorgot, can't remember where it was (I think autoblog) but they did an imformal heads up run with a charger SRT8 against a G8 GT. The SRT8 was only able topull about a fender on the G8. Food for thought....

 

i like ****, and i think the G8 is cool too. espically if you supercharged it like you said.
