93 Mirage Engine swap

Needing some suggestions/advice.

I have a Mirage that's going to become my project car this summer. What I have is a 93 Mirage Coupe, 4G15, Automatic. I want to swap out the engine and trans (to a 5sp)... I'm not looking for 700hp, but more along the lines of over 120hp. (The stock 90 coupled with an auto sucks). What would be my possible choices?

4g64 from the galant in 94-98 or the 2g eclipse spyder (95-98). It's close to a DSM swap but NA format.

I was thinking about both the 4G93 and 4G64... only thing is, what transmission would work in the mirage without a lot of fab work and modifications?

Just find search, type "4g64", and narrow field to "swap" forum. After some read, PM Mirage1. I'm not going to do all your work here since I have seen your tag name on the MPF.

Good luck. If you keep it simple than going buck wild on ideas for HP, you'll have a pleasurable car to drive. Yes, it's quicker and easier for a G93 swap, though.

Thanks for all the info... tomorrow when I go into work ima see how much a 4g93, 4g64, transmission(s) and ECU(s) are going to cost. I'll take the cheaper way out... I can always boost later

well whatever mates up with the 4G93 or 4G64. One of the managers at a different AutoZone said if I could wait till mid summer he could get me a F5M22 trans brand new for $600. So looks like the build will cost less then $3500

I got an 06 OZ as my DD, and my IX... just wanting a project car... plus I'm buying everything brand new, so that's where the cost is coming. I wouldn't be swaping out everything if it had more power... the 4G15 in there now just ticked 90,000 miles and has used synthetic it's entire life... with 3000 mile intervals... it's in awesome shape; just slow.
