But i like pretty cars haha. No the MS3 is a good looking car without a doubt, but i think the lancer looks better (imo). also, modding probably will cross my mind (either way i go), however, "if the 'problem' isn't directed caused by the aftermarket part, then the warranty is still good". < so i've been told and/or read on other forums. We could go into that all day, but i'd rather us not - I think the bottom line is, you guys are throwing me for some twists here hahah, and i need another drive in the MS3 (if it's still on the lot).

 

Save your money and get an 09 Lancer GTS rather then the mazdaspeed 3. You will save money on the car, on the insurance, and on the gas. Think about what features you really want. A fully loaded GTS would be less then the base MS3. Plus the Lancer has bluetooth, a sick nav, amazing sound system, etc..

 

my insurance gave me a quote on the MS3 that was $50-70 cheaper than the 08' Lancer gts. now IM back to leaning for the MS3. My best friend and i texted last night, she thinks i should get the MS3, cause she knows ill like to mod, and its better to have power and not need it, than to need it and wonder where it is. Not to mention , i have a problem w/ ppl at my house always needing to borrow my car - they can't when they can't drive a stick (nor can i..really, but they dont need to know that :P I guess the thing i wished the MS3 had was the sunroof and navi. The other stuff, ahh. don't reallly need, or crave. Always wanted a turbo'd car anyways.

 

You can get a nav system with the MS3. As for mods, the car responds well to basic mods. Once Cobb gets off there but and releases the AccessPort, then that will bring even more power out of the car. Even with just a intake and upgraded bypass valve, it feels like a totally different car.

 

sounds like you need to learn how to drive stick first!! then go test-drive the mazda again... seriously...

 

It also has close to half the horsepower. Which is easier to upgrade, the sound system or the motor?

Go with the MS3, you wont be let down, its a great sleeper. Not to mention you can lay the back seats down and get a little **** time in.....where ever, when ever.


I have a 3 and I must say the cargo room is very very nice, i have actually put my GSXR in the back of it.

 

well thanks for everyone's feedback! I appreciate it! I slept on it last night and I think the mazda would be better now. I will be tuning, and it's a lot easier, and "cheaper" to get more power out of a turbo'd car, than out of a N/A motor. And i really dont need attention (esp from police). lol.

 

If you can get your hands on a Cosmic Blue MS3, it is the most low key color you can imagine and at the same time it is very eye appealing.

 

Yeah I don't know why they call it cosmic blue since it's not even remotely flashy like you'd expect.

 

well the one they have on the lot for MY kinda price is the Sunlight Silver, the Cosmic Blue they had was only in the GT trim, which is like $24k almost 25. and that's a biiiiiiit much considering i doubt my credit is alll that great. It's not bad, but i know it's not great. I wish i could have the red one (but even if i found one for my price, insurance again...noy my ally)

 

But Cosmic Blue is so pretty.



I also don't get tired of seeing this when I pop the hood open:

 

theres a girl in my town with that same color... she drives by my house 2 times a day(to and from work).... the stock exhaust note on the MS3... is pretty impressive... i like it a lot!

also.. back in august.. i messed around w/ one on the highway a lil bit in my talon.... we werent racing just boostin... pretty quick car! caught me by surprise... those things def. boogeyyyy! lol... i still walked him though.... haha either way.... i would def buy one of those cars! id take mine in that blue or black...

 

Kurt, you're right - it is pretty! But i guess i dont want to pay the extra $2000 for it hah. I am currently tryign to find another job (cause the one i have now doesnt pay me for the summer off - since i started late/its a high school...sooo, thats the only thing im waiting on - another payroll..
