Mazdaspeed 3 or Lancer GTS?
the last thing im going to say is get the 2008.5 edition of the mazdaspeed 3 (special edition of the special edition!). no difference in power but its got some cool little quirks like alcantara seats, piano black trim and dash and a couple of other little do dads. dont settle for less...haha g/l with you buy...
definitely sounds like the MS3 is a better choice, especially if price is comparable & insurance rates are lower. everyone else seems to think this way as well. good luck.
fans so maybe he would rather want that instead of a MS3 but when it comes to turbo cars, buying new is usually the best bet.
the insurance might be lower because most insurance companies dont even differentiate the mazdaspeed car from the standard hatchback. somehow this one slipped th cracks and you cannot even find it listed in kbb or nada which i know they use. they just defualt to the gt or sport hatch.

Yeah i think it slipped the cracks for sure! But i thought "mazdaSPEED" was a dead giveaway that this car was a 'high-performance' vehicle. Oh well, I won't argue it hahah. I can't afford a used evo insurance even IF i wanted to buy someone else's "beat up" or "run down" engine. I'd rather be the first and only owner - so i have a chance to truly learn a turbo, get full warranty, etc.. lancerj, I'm not sure if it's an 8.5 version or not. I'm guessing it's just a regular 2008 Sport. But it does have those seats you mentioned I think, so mayyybe? But here's the worst part of the story (not really worst but to me it is). They're definately totaling my lancer, but now i have to wait for the gotdamn check--who knows how long it'll take - and i guess I'm sposed' to just sit around and wait for someone else to maybe buy it in the meantime, cause there aint sh[i]t i can do
I'm going to tuscaloosa, AL to probably look at/test drive the white GTS they have on sale - of course my parents and my brother are wanting me to buy the lancer gts, cause it doesn't "look at as fast", or isn't as fast...and my bro favors it cause he hates hatchbacks, and says the lancer has the fancy navi (which IS cool).

So this evening after work, I met up w/ my friend Jenny, (who too, has been looking for a new car), and we went to the mazda dealership. I asked for a test drive, and the salesman comes back with the keys, cranks it up (or attemps) – the car wouldn’t start – battery. Then, he goes and gets the little trolly thing w/ the jumpers and etc. and he charges the battery (but not for long at all), and the car was running – Keep in mind, I’ve never owned a manual trans before, so I get out of first no problem, make it down a windy hill (not accelerating hard at all), and at the stop sign I stall out while trying to leave first gear, and the battery dies again - - SUPER embarrassing, and this man walks like 50 yards or something back to the dealer to get the jumper kit – now he jumps the car (as people are driving by rubbernecking) and this man LEAVES the jumper kit on the ground, instead of putting it IN the car (like I would have done), and I drive the car for about 3 or 4 mins. I really loved the seats, one of my fav. parts. It was quick for me not even hitttting the gas ya know? I was too afraid to get on it cause my friend Jenny was kind of scared of me being behind the wheel – even though im a great driver. So I stall out again at a traffic light , at THIS point…we are like 10 mins BY CAR, away from the dealership - - he walks all the way back to the jumper kit, and brings it back like 20 mins later or something. And I was like “dude, you drive it back”, and he said “no no, ill take this back, you drive the car back to the dealer lot, I’ll meet you there – I have faith in you”.
So he begins walking away, as I get out of first gear (no problem), and head back up there. Im confused at why I’m so ‘shaken up’ by this experience, I know I don’t know how to drive a stick that well, esp. w/ someone else in the car I don’t know – but the whole (dealership not even checking the battery, or etc..etc..) is a litttttle unprofessional. Tomorrow I’m going to test drive the lancer gts and see how much I like/dislike it. Cause so far, I like the MS3, love the interior a whole lot, love knowing I have power when I want it, but the power reallllly is ruling over the lancer – but tomorrow ill test drive it, and see how much I like the “power” and the navi, + cvt paddles

Well guys, i drove the GTS today, and i love it! I didnt think that the small 152HP would do, but it doesn't bother me - i was too busy gawking and drooling over the navi, and the bluetooth, and the sunroof, and the 10" sub and etc...wow. the caar is loaded, and i love the white color! I'm going to have to go with this car, even though it costs more to ensure, problem is - i have to wait a while...my job doesnt pay me for the last two months of the summer, so my parents are tellin me i have to find a job/way to make the payments for those months before i can make a purchase.. I guess they're watching their own *** if they co-signed for me.
