It sounds spectacular to say that you will make 580-600whp with such simple mods yet so true... I made a promise to myself to keep this car at least 4-5 years, I have no regrets about it and I often ask myself: what else could you get that could realisticly kick this car a$$? The answer is simple, not many cars out there unless you spend a lot of money.

Jonh, I recommend doing the 160-170 thermostat as well, I did mine, it is cheap as hell, take no time to do and all you need is to reprogram the fans during the tuning.

Carlos
your car intake is impressive. if you keep that vette for 5 years i'll pay your last payment.

I am convinced that your Evo is very fast indeed but the power delivery of th LS7 is there at any gear.

Two different videos shows, one from BBC top gear TV show and another german TV show tested the Z06 saying that the engine is extremely elastic. So much that they launch the car in 5th gear and it goes from 0mph to 180mph in 5th gear fairly quick without having to downshift, and , it still had another gear left..

With the LS7 you can cruise in town in 4th, 5th or 6th gear at just over iddle and the engine wil not hesitate. If you were to try to punchit(press the gas pedal to the floor) in 4th, 5th or 6th gear you go nowhere.

Someone would ned to give you a ride to understand how different the engines are. Going from 60-125 mph feels as if you were going from 0-60mph, this car pulls hard at any speed.

The last thing is he reliability, it is a very simple engine base on big displacement. It is indeed a durable engine that typicaly spins at low rpms and still achieves great speeds(75mph @1600rpms).

This is number one car for JAY LENO, he claims that he drives it almost everyday because is comfortable and fast and he makes the remark that unlike other cars, the Z06 it does not overheat.

But again, the Evos with 2.3l and turbokits are a beast. Jonh, this is why you are driving a Z06 and no the other cars on this video:

Light weight, minimal powertrain loses, slim body, super tall gears and the engine makes tons of torque without having to work hard.

1600rpm@75mph ephitomize a car that has a engine hardly moving, that translates into excellent gas milegae in HWY.

By the way, the Evo was never a good fuel economy car( gear ratios, brick aerodynamic, awd drivetrain)

Congrats on the upgrade. I love the Z06 in black. I really want one but considering my evo is my daily driver, I wouldnt be able to do that with a z06 in Chicago.

As far as driveability, wonderful, this thing will take 6th gear from 1000rpm, and pull, I drove Carlos' car, and the suspension is more comfortable than the Evo, steering was slower too, but what car has quicker steering than the EVO? Biggest thing that stands out was how smooth the power comes on, just keeps pulling, and I did not rev it over 5000 rpm. I would buy one if I could afford it. As far as mileage, I have gotten 29 highway in my evo, but i regularly get 26-27, on the highway, so mileage in my book would be close.
