1995 integra...good noobie car?
doesnt seem like the mr2is very common. i cant seem to find any in the auto trader in my area. i even looked for them within 300 miles and still nothing. what are the stats on a 1995 mr2?

But people here have said before that it's better to learn on a FR because when you learn to control that layout well, you can handle any other layout fairly easily, while moving from FF or AWD to FR would be harder.

hmm. this is making me think even more. i guess it would be good to start out on a FR then, but i mean, what good looking CHEAP FR's are out there? preferable under like 6k

You can find some early 90s 240s for around 2 or 3 thousand. 95s might be around the same price.

well, if it helps any, i'm a newbie who just recently pruchased a '89 240 sx fastback. iwent for this car cuz, 1) i didn't want to kill my '02 lancer with the mileage commuting everyday, so i opted to get another car for commuting. 2) why did i pick the 240...honestly, i've always been a fan of drifting(option videos and INITIAL D) and SILVIA'S(japanesse version of the 240). 3) i'm also planning to do the engine swap in the near, near future...i hope. yeah, if your interested, check out :www.club240.com i got my 240 for $1000 w/ about 117k mileage on it, it needs some work but the engine on it is strong as hell( lots of torqe), minor dings, its an '89, so thats not to bad! so just search around, you'll be suprised to what you could find out there so good luck!!
I think before you go any further, and before I write an essay about the topics we have covered so far, you really need to define your goals with your future car. When you have your goals listed, then we can try and pick out a car, as well as a plan for modifications, to suit your needs.
well this all started as me just wantin to get a car. then i added that, i dont want to do huge modifications except for just like a turbo charger(and all the stuff you need that goes with having increased horse power like brake upgrades and stuff). im not here to put in 15 grand for my first car you know. i just want a good looking car, decent power, nice handleing, an engine and tranny that can put up with a noob for a while(thats why i was thinking acura or honda since they supposedly got really good tranny's and engines). basically i want a car that i can drive thats got decent power while i save up for a better car (STi, EVO etc
) and thats it. oh btw on the car(exculding mods) hopefuly nothing more expensive than say 5-6 grand.
Well, the thing is... You don't just go out and slap a turbo onto any car and call it a day. Doing a forced induction conversion involves lots of time, serious dyno tuning, and tons of cash. By the way, how old are you, and will this be your first car? I don't mean to get too personal but how much extra cash are you planning on spending on the car monthly? There's always the cost of insurance, and for a 8-10yr old car, maintanance and repair costs.
And when you say "decent power" and "nice handling" are you planning on going to any races, whether it be drag or autoX or road course? You can buy a fox body 5.0 and spend a grand or two and you immediately have a car capable of doing 12 second quarter miles... Just a thought though...

im 17, and yes this would be my first car. as for how much extra cash i would spend a month, i dont know. depends on what im paid cause right now i aint got a job.as for mantinence or repair costs, im hopin i can put that off for a while if i get a good enough car. as for the decetn power and stuff, i jsut want that stuff so i can mess around. nothin serious. maybe a few time go to like the stadium races we have in san diego just for fun you know. yea i know im taking this really fast but whatever. this is just helping me think.
