$20k best girl car? Fit, TSX, A3???
Looking for a ride for my girlfriend and was wondering what you guys thought. We just sold her is300 in order to buy an 08 Fit and well we can't find one. So we'd have to wait for the 09 which is totally different. We need some suggestions.
Requirements:
1. 05+, Our bank considers that a new car and get a better apr.
2. Decent-good gas mileage. Her is300 got about 15-20mpg.
3. 4-door
4. Wants something that she will keep for a while. The is300 we kind of rushed to buy because I was tired of driving her around and *****ing. So we are taking our time to find the right car this time. Wants something like the evo is to me, from the beginning I thought I would keep it forever for the most part.
5. $20,000 or below, well 23k otd after taxes and everything.
6. Reliable
We have considered a few cars like: Honda Fit, Acura TSX, Audi A3, Subaru Legacy and VW Gti.

Honda Fit pluses: Great gas mileage 30+mpg, nice interior a lot better then the evo's, cool fold down seats, optional navi and stability control, brand new under 20k, hatch has lots of storage room. No real maintenance till 100k.
Negative: least luxurious which I'm afraid she will miss, no center arm rest , some dealers have crazy markups, again missing a lot of little things that make an Acura and Acura.
Acura TSX pluses: Decent gas mileage 20+, very nice interior, they all come fully loaded with the only option being navi, luxurious I believe to be better then the is300. Good warranty, no real maintenance until 100k.
Negative: Premium needed, hard to find the combo we want. Used.
Audi A3 pluses: Decent gas mileage 20+, very nice interior, dsg, hatch so it has lots of storage room.
Negative: Not so sure audi reliability, read there 2.0t can burn up to 1qt per 1000 miles, premium fuel needed, lots of different packages and options, cost a bit more then 20k. Used.
Any help appreciated and I'll add more info and pics later. And none of these cars will be modded besides a simple lowering, wheels, and a lip kit possibly.

As far as the A3 goes and burning oil. That's just something Audi as a company has suggested as the highest consumption rate acceptable. The actual spec is .5qt per 600 miles now. Thing is, especially with the 2.0t, you probably will never see that. Few people actually burn oil that fast. I'm an Audi tech and can honestly say with all the models we work on everyday, the A3 has not shown any real reliability issues in the years since its '05 US release. Plus might I add the warranties are pretty good.
If you were to buy one in your price range, which is slightly out of your range, I'd recommend only buying a certified pre-owned. come to Bellevue and check them out.
