After 5 1/2 years its time to move on.....
I have to add this ( not a knock against the OP ) BUT... the BMW is VERY expensive to work on, from what I have seen their resale value sucks, quality isn't all that great and they are just expensive POS's... but maybe some of that has changed over the last few years.
Are the parts from an e46 interchangeable w/ the new 135i?

I went to school to work on bmws (BMW STEP-look it up) I honestly hate them. Theyre no more luxury than an Acura. Youll be in the shop for so much BS. Luckily itll be covered under warranty because BMWs are way too expensive to mod. I have wondered if the twin turbo manifold/turbo combo would bolt to an e46 m3 head...
They do however have really cool wastegates. Theyre actually normally open instead of sprung closed! Cool fail safe. They make "only" 300 hp b/c they only run 11 psi

Sorry to the OP, I dont be to be an assclown. 135i would be alot of fun. Its cool that BMW finally brought them to the states. I really like e30 M3's. I saw one with a s54 swap (e46 m3 motor). They make chips for the 135i and BMW has their own performance line now as well that replaces Dinan. GL and enjoy. +1 pics

BMW/Mercedes are better, but you don't see alot of older ones on the road anymore......wonder why? If you do see one from the early/mid 90's, it's either been rebuilt or has ridiculous low miles.
BUT, it has been stated and it's true.....the EVO is very raw, it's slap you in the face performance and that's about it. Good luck with the new buy.
i love those 135s i ran into 1 on the turnpike...those litlle " girlie" cars as some call them are pretty damn fast it suprised me until i realized what it was haha but goldluck with the car i hope u got a 2nd job to cover the bills haha
Having twin turbo has nothing to do with the final output. The twin turbos is just a configuration but many other factors mandates the final hp output. My vette makes 505hp stock(512hp overseas) and has no turbos...
First of all the car actually makes about 330hp despites the 300hp rating. Secondly, the car was designed with good gas mileage and zero turbolag in mind. BMW engineers decided to fit small tiny turbos with incredible gas mileage and second to none smooth power delivery.
Go to 1addicts website and do a n54 engine search, this engine is silk.

Evoreel,
Congrats on your purchase. As you can see there are people with different taste, some people don't like it and some people do, I think it is a great upgrade from a 03 Evo.
Someone mentioned the maintenance cost, off course, they also failed to inform that it comes with a 4 year warranty with all the maintenance covered(fluids, belts, oil changes, rotors, pads) how many manufacturers offers that? exactly...
Congrats one more time on the financial aspect, just on gas mileage and insurance alone you will pocket $100-$150 a month (savings).
As far is mods, this is my suggestion:
Rissracing dual cone, JB3 computer module and rissracing catless DP. That will put you on 400whp-450lb-tq for around $1300. If you haven't decided which one, I highly recommend the auto.

bmw makes nice cars but if anything goes wrong, be prepared to go to kragen to buy parts. (unless you can afford the ridiculously marked up parts). my mom has an 02 325i and it needed an altenator and battery. they wanted $1700 frickin dollars! LOL! they said $850 for the alt., $350 for the battery, + labor and diagnosis. my mom bought the topdog extended warrantee and thought at least the altenator would be covered. well, to make a long story short, the car has a duralast battery and a napa autoparts altenator for $350 bucks. they do catch alot of attention though. rich people. LOL. BMW= GERMAN FORD. ghey.
