thinking about trading the evo for either r32 or r33

ok so recently its come to my attention that i could just sell my evo and buy a one stock r33. the downsides would be that they are older and have higher millage. i guess the only reason i would want to do this is because ive always wanted to own one, and my car just isnt as reliable now that its all modded out, at least with a bone stock r33 i would have a rar jdm beauty and a reliable car... maintinance and repair parts... going to be hard to find.

Where did u find one for sale if u don't mind me asking??? Beside the evo that is my dream car. I have seen some but they want in the upper 30s for them with a lot of millage on them. I would do it if the car was well kept and not a lot of milage on it. But the evos are sweet. I am trying to get back in one i miss my old VIII way to much now

i dont think parts will be that hard. more difficult than a us car, but there are still forums and importers that bring parts back here.

Waste of time.. If the car gets hit by chance youll have it sitting forever to find parts for it.. That along with many other issues you might run into.. Stick with the EVO..

^i agree parts could take a while to get plus how would you insure that thing. I'd stick with the evo at least thier a little bit more reliable.

One of the issues with used cars is the amount of money you need to invest to either restore OEM specs or modify according to your preference. Although not always possible it is better to purchase your car new or from a well known, responsible owner. The EVO has many OEM features that render it far away from the competition.

Good luck with your new project.

I agree with this statement as well. Although it would be bad *** to own one, it would be a big pain in the *** not having easy access to parts. The upkeep and the insurance would be expensive.

Having a JDM car would be rarity but you'd be paying for that ownership right as well. Think it through before making a hasty decision.

Best of luck to you.

I also have had this opportunity, only for an R34. Things that steered me away was; It doesn't handle as well as the EVO, it will cost more money if you get the itch to mod it, and most are grey market cars and can not be insured for more than 6 months at a time.

Food for thought...but man a Skyline R34... I so wish...

good luck, there are people that specialize in bringing these cars over. But registering, insuring, and parts make it a lot more expensive than you would have thought.

if you're a collector, by all means, go for it. if you're buying it for a daily driver, consider all the factors involved. i would say it's a stupid trade, but it's neither my money, nor my decision. good luck.

I wanted an R34 also...but after going to Japan and driving one there, its out of my system and like everyone else said, upkeep, maintenance, upgrades, etc will have you paying out the nose. Unless you know someone in Japan that can get parts for you but its still expensive shipping parts and then the wait of getting it. Not worth it to me.

Just my .02, but I think you should just wait and save up for the right moment(When gt-r's price goes down).
