I like how one of their arguments against it is the fact that diesel is more expensive in the US. It's a vehicle that gets double what most cars get mileage wise, those looking for a gas saver would be willing to pay 25% more than gas without a problem when they're getting 100% more fuel economy.

Meh the US would probably require it get loaded down with safety equipment which would lower its fuel efficiency anyways. They should at least import a bunch, sell them below cost for a little while and hype them up then raise the price to where they are making a bit of money on each one and decide whether the demand does actually warrant them reconfiguring a plant in the US to make them.

Good because you'll be able to buy the same car with a gas engine pretty soon.

BTW - the euro MPG numbers are always a lot higher.

sucks they aren't bringing it here. Maybe with VW, Merc, and other companies pushing diesel, ford may eventually bring it over here.
