For around 10-12k u can get a nice used Hona Fit. I have a 08 as my DD now. I have had it for about 2 months and put around 7,600 miles on her. She gets around 35-38 mpg and is a great dd. I drove it from CA to FL where i moved to and back to Oklahoma to see a friend in the airforce. Now i am saving for a evo or a sports bike for the weekends or something esle not sure yet. I know though i am not driving the fit as much now that i am back at work. But great car man do some reasearch on it its won every award in its class thats out there. Best DD out there for the price

i like the fits. but it is not a four door. and is way to small for our needs. if it was just me going back and forth to work then it would be perfect. i have a 89 prelude SI i am using for that. works great. but my wife hauls around a evo trunk full of medical equipment and not to mention a 13 month old.

i am going to look at a 2003 Subaru forester XS tomorrow.

after checking the foresters out. the jetta wagons seem like kids cars.

Put it like this they have more room in them than any car i have seen. That is why they call it the FIT it fits any where and u can fit anything into them. I put all my old evos parts that i still have bumper cf lip into it with no problem.

[QUOTE=goofygrin;6157994]FAIL: 2002 Acura TL 3.2 Type S
Bad transmission in the CL. Can't remember if they were bad in this year for the TL too. Buddy just sold a pristine 00 TL for 5.5k. That car would likely last another 100k miles with just minor maintenance.

TL S's are fine .. that car will last you! My cousin has one w/over 140k. No tranny problems...no problems w/maintenance whatsoever! The CL's on the other hand are a different story. Any luck finding anything yet?

i test drove that white forester today. man we love it. not as big inside as i thought it would be. but it rides and drives amazingly well and looks kinda cool. especially after modding. i love the sound of that flat 4.
i just ran into some problems on the finance side. i guess banks are being asses right now and they dont want o give money to anyone. so i am working on that. im still looking in the meantime.

i had a 1995 impreza and it got decent gas mileage (because it was the 1.8L model), and it had almost 140,000 miles on it before i ended its life early in a wreck. by then it was leaking a little oil but it was nothing serious. the car was a champ.

You might look at a new xB. Kind hit or miss on the styling but they have a TON of room in them. I had a tC with the same engine and it moves pretty well.

Might be able to get some good financing on a new car too?
