Why don't you get the 2008 Lancer?
My mom purchased one for a pretty good price with Navigation, trunk lip spoiler Bluetooth and power package. When she's driving she says young kids speed up thinking there is a young person driving looking to race then they look in a see a mom and slow down.
All around its a damn good car, a huuuuuuuuuuuuge improvement over the older models.

Define good.
Do you want a gas effecient beater?
Do you want cheaper bang for the buck performance car?
What wheel platform? AWD? RWD? FWD?
What price range are you looking into spending?
Be more specific.

yeah you have to be more specific, how much can you afford to spend exactly. go on autotrader or cars.com and do an advanced search on coupes and put in your price range and see whats out there

Honda Del Sol loser car
Integra another loser car
Prelude less of a loser car still a loser car
MR2<- i want reallly badly a horrible loser car
RSx not so bad of a loser car
Nissan Sentra SER finally a good choice

your lancer would stock for stock kill those hondas no doubt, another car i would suggest is the Mazda speed Protege.
How much are you looking to spend on a car? I will have my 03 evo back together here shortly and I will be selling for about $18,000

If your going to customize the crap out of any car, why do you just keep what you have and use the money you would use on customizing to save up for an Evo. I use to modify my daily drivers and then I eventually realized I was spent lots of money on mods that was taking away from my project that I really wanted to spend my money on.
Out of all those rsx-s or an integra with a k20
. Honda's are hardly loser cars and no his lancer would not kill all of those Honda's
. Sentra is gay... mr2-t is a good choice but hard to find a 93+.

i like the feedback but i should be more specfic. i'm getting around 30mpg with the lancer, and with the political situations today i dont want to gamble a bigger budget on gas. I do like the new lancers but not quite as much. I'm looking to spend about 12k for now. i thought i typed that up in my first post haha.
You know i'm just looking for a reliable high quality car that dosn't require much mantinance and is decently fast. I dont thik 'll get an evo till i get outa college, but in the meantime i want something fun. i wana keep my lancer, its an 02 and has 42k miles. But recently i had to change a bunch of stuff ond the transmission at 40k. My dad wants to get rid of it cause of all the things we had to do. change clutch, throwout bearing, master slave cylinder, and the shifting shoe.
thats why most of teh cars up there aren't that fast, but very clean. like my fav right now is the mr2 cause its a convertible and somewhat fast. + not much mantinence, aldthough you never know cause +93 is kinda old. And of course i want an import cause they are just way cooler than american muscle +better mpg. I dont mind old, but i need somedthing with high reliablility. and i know that depends from car to car, and its situation. so 12k is my spending limit, i dnt care if your suggestion is an older car or a new car, hitme up with what you would do.

Nothing wrong with a civic I dd mine since I got it for free from my cousin who was going to sell it, but I did some work on his car and got it for free. I guess you don't want one anyways 240sx, S2000, miata, RX8, Volkwagen Gti, Dsm's.
Edit: you'd also be surprised on how much of a hassle it would be to do basic maintenance work on a Mr2 it's mid engine car and its somewhat rare so parts aren't exactly cheap.

your looking to spend around 12k? you can pick up a pretty low mile 2002 vw gti 337 25th ae edition for around that or a 2003 vw gti 20th ae. both get great gas mpg. i was getting 35-40 mpg on highway trips in my 337. plus they come with better springs(eibach pro-kit) dampers(monroe i think) voltex body kit, recaros, 6 speed from r32, audi TT brakes, the 337 comes with 18 inch bbs rc's and the 20 ae comes with 18's as well
