There is a kid at my work that keeps bragging about his car and I am going to kill him. I don't care what mods it has to take.
The 01 to 04 z06 vettes had the 5.7l LS6 engine with two different power outputs(385hp and 405hp). I am not trying to ridiculize you or anything but you put a timeframe in which 3 different engines were build and even one of them had two outputs.
As per performance, it is proven that a old C5z06 will be a total match to a earlier C6. Also, in my opinion a used C5 Z06 is one of the top ten best performance deals you can get right now as used car.

Back to the subject. Yeah you could beat them from a dig. Many many people have done mid 12's and around 115+ traps on bone stock C6s but the RWD requires a decent driver to make the car competitive.
I really think you would take him from a dig and he will slowly catch up.
