...it's there to reduce the dramatic oversteering problems all 911 types have. Pretty much an engineering flaw from day one, but that's the charm of Porsche's.

An engineering "Flaw"?
The car was made to work exactly how it does. 40+ years of racing has proven that it works.
BTW: as far as the car goes...I'd take it in a heartbeat

Yes, 40+ years of racing proved that the 911 types oversteered from day one. Guess what? It's still an oversteerer today. You know why? Cause the engine and all it's weight is behind the rear axle centerline. Which means when you whip around a corner really fast, the centrifugal force of all that weight in the tail wants to slap that rear around. Same principal of why a sling shot and other end weighted stuff works. Without a rear wing the 911 types are unraceable. Some people love it and others not so much, but that's the charm of owning a 911 type Porsche (it can bite you any time if you are not careful).
