Best DD for $3K budget?

Does anyone have any input on a good DD for less than $3k? I was thinking a Honda, but everything I come across is super riced out or beat to hell. I would like something 4cyldr, no preference otherwise as long as it's reliable and has air conditioning.

Focus ZX3? Might be able to find one. Good aftermarket for them, good gas mileage, fun car to drive.

Clean reliable dsm's in that price range. It all depends on what you want. I kindof like the fact you can pick up a dsm for 2-3k or less at times. Plus with $1000 in aftermarket and you can make it fun.

I definitely agree with you here in the aspect of spending little (just like with an evo aftermarket) and making it fun.. but those cars usually have so many problems since they are so high mileage and some are almost 20 years old now :/

what are you expecting to get for under $3K though?!
anything at that price is gonna be old, have a lot of miles, probably beat up a little and most likely from a private buyer or small dealership

he said he wants a DD though. so a "fun" car, or something to mod really isn't what he's gonna want. Otherwise he could just pick up a DSM. the key word in his post is "reliable"

Did you just put "reliable" and "DSM" together?
