R35 Skyline

R35 Skyline,

Any Idea what these bad boys are putting down stock?

I searched online and found one running about 430awhp.

The reason why I'm asking is I had a run in with one on the track on a long straight. My car has stock turbo with all supporting mods (TBE, bla bla bla) but no cams at the moment, running 24 psi.

He was slightly pulling on me in 4th gear upto about 110, I missed 5th and let off. He continued to about 150 in quite a hurry might I add. He was most definitley pushing it.

Im actually quite happy with the evo, I feel like I held my own, Im sure if I kept chasing into 5th gear his power advantage would be more obvious, but Im still a happy camper.

It was a great day, the skyline still had dealer plates.

if you get some cams it will really give you some power. I gained a ton off cams!

Im not sure about the whp on those. Ive seen a stock one run 11.5@126 at pir. Those things weigh a ton too. If i had to guess, id say they put down closer to 470 whp. just my guess tho based off the times and weight.

There's no such thing as an R35 Skyline.

Since you're asking about the GT-R... 430 AWHP is pretty typical for people who've dynoed the car. Works out to at least 500 crank HP, maybe more like 525-550, which would explain their performance. Nissan admits that there's a lot of variation in the engines, so 480 is likely the lowest they ever tested.

Cobb's is claiming around 430hp's stock and 460ish with their stage 1. Which is pretty insane.

I'd rather play with something that is cheap and affective. Have a 4 door saloon with $5k in mods that can spank a $80k car with tranny issues. That and I believe Evos are sexier than the new GT-R.

5K is not enough to spank the GTR in everyway (acceration, top speed, handling, braking, stability, drivability, and comfort). Maybe an additional 20k the Evo can beat the R35 in everything...maybe...maybe not...

Also, only a hand full of people had the tranny issues and all were heavily abused under launch control.

top gear said that since the engine and tranny is matched specifically for each other, the hp range will differ

The shifting between gears is so quiet and barely noticeable on those cars.
