-Nissan's Z uses Akebono brakes, 4 piston front and 2 piston rear. Who cares that they aren't Brembos because they bring the Z to a halt from 60mph in only 101ft.

I haven't driven the new Z yet, but it looks awesome and has awesome performance. I wouldn't even think of buying a Genesis over a Z. The Z has been continually improved for 4 decades by a manufacturer that knows how to build a proper sports car. I'm sure the Genesis will perform admirably for its price, but there is no way I would consider it if I were in the market for a circa 30k RWD V6 sports car with the Z around.
I don't doubt your theories on the Genesis at all, but if it were me I'd wait until it was at least released and some moved off the showroom floor just to see what Nissan will do to keep people coming to their showrooms. I wouldn't doubt substantial savings and maybe some special packages for the Z once Hyundai gets that Genesis coupe going.

Definitely a beautiful car. I want to go test drive one so badly, but I'm afraid if I do that I'll end up driving it home.

Your hands should only be between 9-3 and 10-2 o'clock, not at the top. So they flatten out the top to give a better site line.

Also, the wheel being vertical/ tilted all the way down is the preferable setup for driving fast as it gives you more control.

More tilt up? Less control. Round, i.e. taller steering wheel? Possibly obscured vision meaning you have to drive slower.

I was pretty happy with the 370 as well when I went to check it out. But the dealers in my area are VERY proud of them and want top full msrp plus a 5k dealer markup and seemed very unwilling to negociate at all. The fully loaded out one that I liked they wanted 41,000 for and at that price point I think I'd rather just get a 1-2 year old C6 Vette or AMG series Mercedes.

From time to time there has been some speculation in the motoring press that Nissan might someday put a detuned version of the GT-R motor in the RWD 370Z model.

If you knew for sure that would happen, it might be worth waiting for. A 420 HP 370Z would give Corvette a run for its money, as well as a few other sports cars.

^Jim,

I went last Saturday to see them on the Nissan dealer from Broadway and they look much better in person. This car elbowed itself to the top own its own(best price, best brakes, best handling, best acceleration, one of the best looks).
The stocker prices was $29930 plus minor charges. They offered me a ride but I declined. One local friend (Ryan)purchased a blue 370Z and traded his 05 STI, he says quality wise is night and day(the 370z being the better of the two according to him).
