New Audi R8 (525hp, AWD)

What do you guys think?, I think it deserves a spot in the top 10 best and sportiest cars. They increased the displacement by 1000cc and they were able to get 105hp out of the extra 1000cc, they also added 2 more cylinders.

I love the previous R8, I think it was an incredible car but I also think it was a bit underpowered, it weight a lot and it was only 420hp. With the new engine the torque went up as well but now 525hp is a different league.

I think is going to be a great comparo against the GTR. Anyways, what a beast!!!

I'd take that over a GTR anyday imo...better made and could almost guarantee its just as quick seeing as the old R8 wasn't that far behind it. Btw nice sig

No its not. That car sells for around $135k to $150 with extras. GTR's go for 90-100k+ because of their ridiculous mark up with Vspec as much as the R8. Although their prices are coming down...since some of their problems are more becoming apparent.

It is basically a mildly inferior version of LP560-4 with high tech looks, better interior and better price. Same engine, slightly less output, slightly heavier, slightly taller, slightly narrower etc etc.

Oh and to OP, I was like, 'what? Are you serious? RS4 engine in a much lighter car is underpowered?' then I saw your car list, '2008 C6 Z06'

You can get a brand new GTR with almost no markup now. So the new R8 is about twice the cost. Which is kind of comparing apples to oranges. For the money, the GTR is the hands down winner. If cost was no object, well...i'll go for some other car then the R8.

I remember when they tested on Top gear! It did amazingly! And they showed pics of this v10 version on fire during a test which was funny. Long time carlos! We need to hit up the track sometime!

they didn't increase anything, they are using the gallardo engine, a detuned version or stock version of previous pre lp-560 model since both cars are built in the same engien plant and share chassis, this was evident.

Because people have gotten wise to Nissan's warranty acts and the strings that are attached. $20k time bomb under the car and warranty about as good as Mitsubishi don't help sales imo.

I think there is only a hand full of people that has blown their tranny, and all were under launch control. Also, these people were doing quite a few crazy launches before the tranny finally gave out, due to wheel hop (something to this effect).

The only fault i can put on Nissan and the GTR is having launch control on the car in the first place. Seriously, if the transmission can't take it, they should not have put it there and then void the warranty. Maybe Nissan will figure out how to resolve this engineering problem and bring back LC without it killing the gearbox.
