My RB-Z project aka GodZilla
My RB-Z project aka GodZilla
Well, I finally got the car over to JNZ a few days ago. Its been sitting at my work since August
The car runs and drives nice for sitting for months. I bought it off ebay from a guy in Cali, so the car has pretty much no rust on it. The underside is very nice and the body is straight. It has a few spots that someone fixed with bondo at the bottom of the doors but besides that, its a nice starting point. What is in store for this car you ask? Well, here's the list in a nutshell:
Built RB26 w/ TH400 trans
Custom fuel system
Custom driveshaft
Custom FMIC
LSD for the R200
Aftermarket gauges all around
Various body pieces
The body will stay pretty much stock looking, I want to concentrate under the hood. So maybe a set of 15s w/ fender flares, I have a 72 rear bumper coming, glass hood, front air dam and maybe a rear spoiler. The styling of this car doesn't need much work, its nice as is. I'm sure there's alot I'm missing but I'll update as I go along with it. Not sure what I want to do turbo wise yet, probably in the 40R area depending on $. If I find a cheap 42R or T72 I'll probably pick it up but I don't really need to go that big. 600whp in a car that weighs 2600# is enough I think
I just want something thats fun to take to the track and that is unique as well. I've wanted to do a RWD import for years since after I sold my first EVO. At the time it was going to be a 4G63 FD, but they were still too much at the time. Now its 5 years later and there are a few out there, so I wanted something different which is where the Z came in.
I found a place to get the engine/harness/ecu from in Canada for 2750 shipped, can't argue with that. I hope to order it next week. Once it comes in and I start the tear down process, I'll post those pics next. Here are some pics I took today, nothing great but you get the idea of what I'm starting with:

Stay tuned for the fun
