On the 3rd March 2009 the eyes of the automobile world were on Geneva. At the 79th Motor Show the sports car manufacturer Wiesmann presented in hall 2, stand 1234 the new Wiesmann Roadster MF4. This new model makes an impressive addition to the Wiesmann Company's range of soft-top sports cars. A completely new car has been born with the Wiesmann Roadster MF4, which is now available alongside the classic Wiesmann Roadster MF3. Like all Wiesmann sports cars, the Roadster MF4 is built entirely by hand.

The summer will be exhilarating: The Wiesmann Roadster MF4 enriches the Wiesmann model range with a new inexpressible driving experience full of dynamic and agility. The Wiesmann Roadster MF4 has the typical sound of the 8-cylinder engine that powers it. So what distinguishes it from other cars? Obviously, this new engine turns the Roadster MF4 into a powerhouse with enhanced driving properties such as irresistible acceleration and the unique capability to transmit its enormous power directly to the road. The customer has a choice of two engines: a high-torque 4.8 litre V8 engine with 367 hp (270 kW) and - the same engine that is built into the Wiesmann Roadster MF4-S - a high-revving 4.0 litre V8 which delivers 420 hp (309 kW). The gearing variants are certain to raise the pulse rate of true sports car fans: Alongside the manual and sport automatic, a 7-speed double clutch system is also available for the 420 hp version.

Whether by moderate driving down a normal street or a more intense drive along a winding B-road, the MF4's spellbinding agility and driving dynamic are immediately appreciable. Accompanying this is a driving performance in a class of it's own: With a maximum torque output of 400 Nm and a power to weight ratio of 3.1 kg/PS the Roadster MF4-S can accelerate from a stand still to 100 kph in just 4.4 seconds.. Lateral acceleration while cornering is transferred directly to the cockpit thanks to the low-slung position of the seat, just ahead of the rear axle. The MF4 is capable of reaching a top speed of 300 kph. For safety purposes the Wiesmann Roadster MF4 is based upon a stiff aluminum monocoque chassis with integrated side impact bars and is equipped with driver and passenger airbags as well as series standard ABS that functions in combination with a dynamic stability control (DSC) system.

Even the Wiesmann Roadster MF4's eye-catching exterior appearance communicates individual style and superiority, putting it in a class of its own. Despite the car's timeless styling, which was developed on the basis of the Wiesmann Roadster, the Roadster MF4 is a completely new sports car. The body has captivatingly distinct, curved lines and an unmistakeable look. The front end features the large radiator grille that is typical of the Wiesmann cars and circular xenon headlights. Viewed from the side, distinctive beading emphasises the vehicle's agility. The neat, dynamic shape of the clamshell rear with twin exhaust further enhances the Roadster MF4's athletic appearance. The sensational appearance of this pedigree sports car however is not solely derived from a design intended to please the eye: Aerodynamics, perfect weight distribution and details crafted by hand underline the technical perfection of it's development. This of course is with out mentioning the famous individuality a Wiesmann conveys.

This year for the first time Wiesmann is offering different engines for two models, the MF4 and the GT MF4. This is stated in the classification. The new Wiesmann Roadster will therefore be available as the 367 hp powered Wiesmann Roadster MF4 and the Wiesmann Roadster MF4-S with engine producing 420 hp. Both models are available in right or left hand drive.

The basic price for as standard generously equipped Wiesmann Roadster MF4 begins at 128,000 Euro including tax, the Wiesmann Roadster MF4-S from 137,900 Euro. Every individual Wiesmann is produced according to the exact individual wishes and requirements of the customer, with the price of the finished car adjusted correspondently.
