Im picking up this 1995 Mazda Mx-6 V6 LS manual tranny this week. Its has 145K miles. This will be my dd

Just wondering what I should be aware of and what to check or to be changed once I got it?

I already test drove it and it drives so smooth and quiet.

 

that looks like a 96' m-edition.... great cars for a DD.

I had KLZE swapped 93 mx6 way back.
Try mx6.com, they have some decent info

 

The KL03 is a good engine. I had a KLZE PGT that made around 200whp, 2500lbs and made a decent track car. Suspension, brakes, tires, and passed alot of fast cars at the track....that is until the brakes cooked so hard the chrome peeled off the stock wheels

Every know and then VRIS can go out, motor mounts are weak, sometimes 2nd gear can go, front sway bar bushings can break. Those are the main issues which don't happen that often, other than that they are dead nuts reliable.

 

$900 bucks but the owner called today and said he just found out that his timing belt has a rip. I called local shop and they gave me an estimate of $368 for the labor and parts. Almost $500 with the water pump included

 

change it yourself its easy. and make the owner knock off equal price of the "quote" that the mechanic offered

 

Owner said he is been using non-synthetic oil and he said he don't suggest switching it to to Synthetic coz its not good on this car?

Is this true?

 

i have a first gen mx6 but i dont know a whole lot about the 2nd generation. definitely check out mx6.com, tons of good info over there.

 

If he has been using non syn for the life of the car, continue to do the same.. "Its not good for the car" sounds made up though.

Not to be rude, but it sounds like you want alot for next to nothing. You have a clean looking potential dd for $900!!!! Most of us payed more than that for an exhaust system! BUY IT! Thats a good deal.
