While on the dyno Monday morning we figured out that it was possible that we were able extract some data from the car while doing the pulls. We logged 2 pulls. 1 totally stock and 1 with our inline manual boost control added.

What we actually found was that the car was only opening the throttle 88% of the way and not the full 100%.

Here are the readings we were able to pull from the car.

STOCK:
RPM MAP IAT Advance
2150 131 118 3
2450 202 116 3
2900 203 116 5
3350 202 114 7
3800 198 114 8
4200 193 113 9.5
4600 189 113 11
4900 186 111 13
5250 179 109 12.5
5550 176 109 14
5800 173 107 15.5
6050 171 107 16
6250 168 107 15.5
6500 169 107 16

Buschur Racing MBC Added:
RPM MAP IAT Advance
2000 125 118 2
2300 188 118 2.5
2850 218 118 5
3350 216 118 7
3900 214 118 9
4350 207 116 10
4800 203 116 13
5200 194 116 11.5
5500 187 116 13
5800 184 116 14
6150 181 116 14.5
6400 181 118 15
6600 178 118 23

We are not able to tune the car at this time but we did want to share some of the info we were able to extract from the vehicle in its current state.

Should pull the intake pipe off and have someone visually verify that. If you got that via the tactrix cable and <insert generic evo logging software here> then it's most likely not accurate. I've found they need tweaking when dealing with electronic throttle bodies.

If you already know this, then ignore me, I'm not trying to be patronizing or anything, just voicing a suspicion

That's good, right? Isn't speed density desired over a MAF setup?

Very suprising it's speed density. Speed density is good for power as you don't need some elborate intake system, i.e. flow restriction.

BUT, the fueling is typically not as precise with speed density, making it harder to meet emissions regulations and possibly hurting fuel economy a bit. Honda has switched over to MAFs on all their new cars I believe because of the emissions issue. It's pretty much why all new cars are MAF based I think.

I say scrap the stock setup and put an Evo X 4b11 in there with the Mitsu ECU. I really doubt that block is gonna hold more than 350 whp. Plus I can't even imagine what sort of cheap-o rods and rod bolts they used in this setup. Who will be the first to gernade this 4B11-G block?

The previous pervious post is actually fairly justified. The block in the Genesis does not have the same amount of reinforcement as the Evo block. The rods are sintered power (IIRC) vs. forged in the Evo. I think the pistons are cast instead of the Evo's forged.

The pretty quick fix is to buy Evo rods and pistons as those are almost most definitely more likely to let go before the block. The block is probably fine to handle a good amount of HP.

Sorry that there hasnt been any update guys. I had a vacation day on Thursday.

Friday at 8am we left to come down here to "The Maxton Mile" in North Carolina to support and help a few customers/friends that were running this weekend. We're currently here in Laurinburg, NC. Tomorrow morning we're going up to Rockingham for an import race and will be heading home in the afternoon.

We have some stuff coming. Stay tuned!

The block looks pretty solid from another post I saw on here.Lets not forget that this isnt an evo.Its a cheaper alternative with a twist(rwd).Im really considering trading in my evo for one of these. The idea of staggered wheels, rwd, and possibly 300whp just seem more practical for me at the moment and are well rounded for a fun daily driver.I dont think Ill like the trade in power but whatever.Im going to check one of these out tomorrow.I Have yet to see one in person.

Thanks Marque! The Cobalt is a nice car but in my opinion the Coupe is alot more sporty and offers more options for the money. Plus RWD > FWD.

It seems alot of guys are picking the Coupes up as daily drivers. Its looking like its going to be a good car.
