Am I Crazy

How crazy am I to consider trading in the evo for a Volvo c30?

Went to the dealer just for fun the other day and they gave me a really good trade in value and a pretty decent sale price on the c30

I know it is a totally different kind of car but I am quite tempted

If you do not have anything nice to say then please do not say it

Flaming in, 3...2...1. No I think that's a great trade (insert sarcasm here). And if you don't wanna hear anything that's not nice aka the cold hard truth then I suggest you just do what you think is best and keep it out of these forums if you don't wanna hear unpleasant things. Just my .02 GL with the trade.

Personally I wouldn't buy any product backed by domestic partnership right now (Volvo being backed by Ford). With the way the market is they're trying to give you a maximum allowance (trade + discount) towards their Volvo because they're dying on the vine. If you look at a C30 that is a year old the depreciation is FAR worse than the industry average. Evo's are depreciation proof to a certain extent as there will always be a market for the car. From a financial standpoint the deal may seem good now, but will end up costing you thousands of dollars if you ever try to get rid of the Volvo.

Cheers,

the C30's seem pretty nice, but I can't see it matching the fun factor of the Evo. I brought my ex's car in for service a few weeks ago to a local VW dealership who happened to have 2 MKV R32's STILL sitting on the lot. They offered a decent trade on my car (without ever really looking at it) and a price well below the sticker on the R and I said no. I wasn't looking, but they know I owned a MKIV R32 and figured it was worth a shot.

Fun car, but nothing like the Evo. In the end the choice is up to you. Let us know what you do man.
