Help me pick a possible DD!!!!

Hey guys I'm gonna be moving up to college in UF in the next couple months and wanted to take my evo the first year but I wanna keep it safe till i get an apartment the second or third year. My budget is around $4.5K to 5.5K MAX on this DD.

Thinking of:

3000gt VR4 1st choice if i can find it for the price
2g DSM GST or GSX
old 240, civic w/e
Basically something thats fun to drive and is cool

thanks for your help

1. VR-4 is expensive to maintain, I don't think I'd want one that cheap as it would be old and really high miles. Stealths are almost always cheaper, but I would rather have a 3000.

2. DSMs are much cheaper to aquire, but also high maintenance if you get one thats all hacked up. That much money should get you a pretty good example.

I have nothing to say about the other two.

Universities are high-theft areas. Everything on your list will be prime theft targets. Get a POS car that you can pay cash for, never leave anything in it.

If theft isnt a problem, a civic or integra would be a reliable pick.

A gsx is not in the price range you listed at all. Try something less fun and stress free, civics r hot items. Try a stock accord maybe or a toyota =)

You can find your self a good 95 n up gsx/gst or talon tsi for about 2k to 3500. Crank walk is overrated. Im running 20psi on stock block 7 bolt for over a year, no problem except some little minor this.lol

3000gt vr4's are vary expensive to maintail like said above.

Civic's are fun especially with a swapped B series motor. Red line the ***** all day and ill still be reliable.

240's, never had experience with them so IDK.
