I don't think it's worth $20k. Frame damage and whatever that molten goo used to be. Then again, it'll buff right out.

holy **** granted thats still an expensive car im suprised it still cranks but doesnt start.

 

i really dont think that car will ever be driveable again.... you probably couldnt even remove the engine and other parts under the hood as they are all melted together

 

u have to be bonkers to buy that car for 20k, or buy that car at all. Especially when you can get a good running one for not much more.

I was wondering if Meth injection was involved in any way.

I'm assuming this was NOT covered by warranty nor insurance; otherwise why would the owner be trying to sell it?

If warranty coverage, owner would have let BMW fix it.
If insurance covered it, owner would have let insurance fix it.
If insurance totaled the car, owner would not still have it.

Still, would be interesting to know exactly what happened.

That is only a parts car - no point in attempting to repair it. I'd pay $2000 max.
