New car for work!
I test drove a fgew of those when I was stationed in the UK, specifically I test drove the 2002 Carrera at the Lancaster Porsche where I use to service my Carrera 4 Cabriolet. The most noticeable thing about that engine is how fast the rev up(ask the owner and he will tell you).
Ant1,
I use to get massive disccount on servicing my Porsche at the Lancaster Porsche in Cambridge(Cambridgeshare). One massive disccount was my lieu tax exception form for being a military overseas(that was worth the full VAT which is what 18%). Additionally I use to get a huge disccount thorugh a program called 5 star Porsche maintenance which is a special program for Porsche 5 years and older.
I stablished a great bound with many senior employees there so if you want some recommendations let me know.

This is the number one reason why the 993 bodystyle are frozen on their value, they are the one that hold their value the most and in cosntarts the 996 don't.
my .2c

I doubt is the 4S, the 4S has the vents in the rear corners of the rear bumper just like the turbo. The 4S also share the yellow Turbo caliper(if I am not mistaken)

I actually really wanted a 996tt but they are still a bit out on price. The 993tt I looked at had nice styling but the interior just felt really dated to me even though it was still $40k. For that price I pretty much made the decision on the new vette. I think the styling though on the P cars is really priceless though. Even the 996 still look nice with a few modifications even being 7-8yrs old. I do agree though seeing a 993 done up is quite the car. We have a highly modded silver one around here. He gets on it alot too and it sounds pretty mean...
Btw Ant1 let your job know if they need another employee...I sure would like to have a Porsche as my work car.

Ah okay you are probably right. I am not too up on my P cars. I mainly looked for ones under $40k and nothing really caught my eye in the performance category except for a quick look at a C4S.

Even though the Porsche are very fast I think the N/A fall behind against competitor like Corvette. Even a base Corvette has more power that a mighty GT3.
The 996TT are nice but I rather have the 993 TT or the 997 TT, the style speak for itself.

I use a 700bhp+ Evo at the weekends so the Porker is just for work. It's a 2001 Carrera 2 and to be honest it's enough with the rear wheel drive. Lol the Porker also goes around corners and no disrespect to the Corvettes as they are cool, but they don't handle so well, de-value like a **** and they are shocking and i mean shocking on fuel.
You do realize a the LS3 corvette is 436hp and gets almost 28mpg right? Also the Z51 package has them pulling almost 1.0g stock and lap times aren't far of the big boy P cars (GT3, 997tt) The C6 has changed alot. I recently just drove a stock Z51 and it handled every bit as good as my evo with a nicer suspension. Steering was the only thing that lacked compared to the evo. Your right on the depreciation though...but thats I good thing for me since now I can finally afford one

Modern US Corvettes would not hack the UK roads over here. Fact.Remember this is a work car not the weekend toy. Also UK power figuires differ somewhat from the US figuires. So the Evo is 800bhp in your world

Maybe the newer generation but i don't see those over here. Still would never buy one though. Now if you are going back to the classic charger mussle cars now that's a different story
