other cars?
I know this is a Mitsubishi forum, but what other cars would you guys consider? I was going to look at the wrx, but too many motor issues, and the RA but the closest dealer is 75 miles away and I can't find any with recaro's. I'm not even sure I want a sedan as I'm single, but its the only type car that comes with awd right now. I'm also seriously considering the Camaro 1LT, Genesis coupe GT base and 2010 Mustang GT base. I would like to keep the cost below 25k if possible. I heard the RA has some discounts, Chevy does'nt have any except for the college discount so a no option model may be close. I really like the Mustangs, but a premium '10 GT is out of the question. I do qualify for a-plan pricing so a base model may be close if they are willing to deal. I looked at a loaded 09 GT with glass roof the other day and it was nice, but just too much and I don't really want or need all the extras, although I loved the leather seats. I found a 2009 Bullitt in black the other day and was going to check it out. I like the looks of the 2010's better, but the Bullitt looks cool too, is fairly rare, comes loaded and the understated style fits my personality. Its an expensive car, but they have a 4.5k discount on it, plus about 2.3k off for a-plan and about 2k trade-in hopefully, so I may be looking at around 24k. I don't know though as a dealer just called and said payments would be around 480/m for a 2010 base with just the 3.73 axle and that seemed a little high for a 29k car minus the trade-in and discount as I came up with about 420 using an auto loan calculator. It looks like the best I can hope for on the bullitt is upper 300's x 72m if I'm lucky and I would like to keep it around 350 or less. Maybe I should check out the 05 SRT-6 Crossfire I found for around 17k with 34k miles on it. Looks sharp in black, but being that old not sure how long a term I could spread it out over?
I test drove a 3.8L Genesis Coupe, and I really liked it, just too much money. If I had the money for one, it'd be a tough decision between the Gen Coupe and an Evo. The new Camaro does look pretty sweet, and everything I've heard about it has been pretty good.
I know, I heard a lot of good things about the Gencoupe, but I was'nt really impressed the other day when I test drove one. The ride was really bumpy, but the dealer said it was because it had sat in the same spot too long. I don't know how long that would take as my car sits for a day or so sometimes and I never had that problem. It could be the low profile tires I suppose. Interior was nice, but the shifter was really notchy and I could'nt seem to find the right gears and stalled it a couple times (and I drive a 6-speed too). In contrast, I caught on to the Mustang GT's 5-speed right away and the throws were really crisp and the clutch was super light. The Gen did seem to have good pickup though and from the seat of the pants felt quicker than the stang in 2nd and 3rd, but 1st was too short. Plus the Mustang "only" had 300hp compared to 315 for the Bullitt and the 2010's and it also had the glass roof that added some weight I'm sure. I really wanted to test a auto Gen as I hear they are better, but I got to the dealership right before closing and did'nt get a chance (good hour drive away). They did have a used (3200 miles) auto there in gray that looked pretty good, but they only knocked 2k off (asking about 27k) and you have to wonder why they turned it back in so soon. The Camaro I tested was auto as the manuals are'nt out yet and it was nice looking, but I felt a little sluggish until you got the rpm's up and I hear the manual is better (and slightly quicker) in that car plus it is cheaper. But then again, there likely will be no discount for awhile and I already saw a red and black one in my town (which is a GM city). I wanted to get black and not have a common car. I'm sure I'd be the only Gencoupe, Bullitt, or Ralliart in town if I got one of those or I could wait and try to get a gray Camaro as those look really sharp...

I was driving home today and noticed an awd badge on a 300C trunk. that would be a consideration since 300C is ubiquitous and are being sold for a discount.
Way too big and expensive for my needs. I was actually considering a Dodge Charger R/T for awhile as you can get a used one fairly cheap, but it makes you wonder why there are so many used ones for sale. Plus they are kind of plain looking unless you get the Daytona Edition and they can get pricey.
If you want something fast for a dirt cheap price, take a look at a Cobalt SS. I'm sure some dealers are practically giving them away right now. 300hp and you could probably walk away with one for less than $20k.
