1 mile run GTR vs LPE C6Z06
I love the car and even like the way they look alot. I just honestly can't afford the car to get it where I would say it's fast. I've driven one and stock it's nothing if you've owned fast cars before.
IMO, once you get in the 130-135mph trapping range that's fast for a street car, and to get a GTR there is 30k installed/tuned. There is no way I'll have that type of coint to drop on that car unfortunately.
A couple of years down the road when they get in the 50K range I might pick one up to add to the Z.

Hennessey, the same guy that scammed TONS of Viper owners and half assed their cars, causing them to fall apart rather violently at times. The parts he takes off your car when dropped off he then sells to make money, even if they're parts you actually need. When confronted about it in person, he threatens nearly everyone with physical altercations.
Hennessey is the worst crook in the business.
You obviously have no idea of how stupid that comment actually was.

Haltech's are shipping now, so 700whp+ GTR should start showing up anyday now. I can't wait......not that I could even remotely afford one with those mods

Jasil I see that you own a Z06. I remember reading the thread when you first got it and weren't planning to mod it, it seems things have changed, lol.
I'm wondering how the driving experience of the Evo compares to that of the Z06. Which is one of my fav cars btw. I was actually considering getting one. The only real down side to Z06 in my opinion was that it was a handful at full throttle.
How fast was your evo? for a comparo base line.

The most it ever got to was 404awhp............then I detuned it and started amassing every part known to man for a 700whp build.
I miss 5 things about the EVO now that I've owned the Z06 for 3.5 monts.
1. Seat bolstering. Z06 seats are more comfortable, but have no side bolstering.
2. Steering response the EVO is just that good such a tossable car very fun.
3. Cheap aftermarket
4. Huge tested and then retested aftermarket with known limits on just about everything on the car.
5. Wasn't scared to drive it to the movies or mall etc.
That's about it. Traction I have tons of it, speed tons of that, handling more then I could ever use on the street, brakes same, the car is everything I wanted still 3.5 months later.....my 85 year old uncle wanted a ride in the car!! He started talking about his 67 Vette, 78 Vette, then my wife's dad talked about his Stingray he used to have. Now both are talking about buying a Vettes again. I never cared about lineage and things like that, but it's amazing how much the Corvette means to the previous generations. It's the history of the car!!
Back to the car!!! I really wish GM would have put forged pistons in it, but why would anyone do that on a NA application, so I can't blame them. Next month in goes a cam, headers, retune for 550whp then I'm done..........:-)
Here is a local guys car with a open exhaust :-( I don't like that very big cam and 100 shot in 102 degree temps....too big of a cam IMO...but it freaking runs. Pump gas of course!! Now the car has a 454 and 300 shot shooting for 8's pump gas.

Here is my tuners car pump gas dyno 600whp N/A and then w/200 wet shot!! and 1-4th run on 345 Invos still solid traction. Video is scratchy, and the run is towards the end it's about 45 seconds long.

Video he lets off at 145mph

As far as the things you miss about the evo
1. I had not spent enough time in the drivers seat to really notice.
2. Very tossable car!! especially if you have some light weight/handling mods
3. Awesome after market and we are lucky to have such great tuners and fabricators in the Evo community like Buschur, AMS, ETS and so fourth.
4. It seems like every day they are pushing the limits further of the stock motor further and further even on the Z06. The Evo likes meth, the Z06 likes spray and hates FI (unless its built, with that said people are beginning to run meth on FI vette's with some success).
5. I still a great deal about the Evo and I am the person that will park in the far spot because I don't want any door dings, plus I could use the exercise/physical activity lol.
Its hard for me to believe you have tons of traction on the street with that much power and street tires, but that's something that I can look past because a good driver will over come that obstacle in normal condition even if it means not going full throttle until mid way through 1st gear. Handling, the car is sold and has allot of grip. Although I prefer the feel the evo more (shorter front end, more tossable and easier to handle at its limits). Brakes I'm sure they are great Stock for stock its debatable Evo better initial bit and pedal feel vs. the Z06 better stopping distance (I believe this to be true), but I love my new set-up and I'm sure that I could out brake a stock Z06 now.
It is true the Vette has so much heritage! Which is sooo cool! Everyone likes those things. My father and I sold our 69 Camaro (Sunday car) because we wanted to get a Z06. After my father drove it he loved it. He was like wow that thing has a lot of power. That low end tq in American cars is..(speechless)... man there is no substitute. We never ended up getting it because I thought I would be better to hold onto the cash, see where we are at in a year with the economy. I wanted the power so I sold my G35 coupe for the Evo and decided to mod it.
Ok I don't want to seem like I am contradicting my self so please wait to judge my statement. I am a firm believer that either your old Evo or mine now would beat the Z06 from a stand still on the street. The track is a different story because you have a water pit to heat the tires and tire glue all over the place if you stay in the groove.
Do you agree?

Yes, from a dig, more often then the EVO would jump out but to what speed I don't know? I doubt it would be past 80-90 mph though. The car doesn't spin much unless you try to dump the clutch like a newb and with TC on it's more of a squirm. Here is a video of a smaller tired C6 hooking on the street. My old car would have not kept up with this car from a dig and my Z06 is close to this from a dig right now. If the race was anything but a dig and I mean anything the Z06 would put buslengths on my old car. In all honesty when driving it's the at speed acceleration that is fun.....not the launching part anyway. I raced a 530whp EVO last week and had him by 3 cars from 40-140mph he was brake boosting and was even until 100mph after that I just inched away.....anything can happen on the street though. Like I said in my original write up the car is so much more than just numbers it's everything, IMO.
As far as all the handling and braking tidbits I'll say with 100% confidence that on the street the car has far more potential that anyone needs to be trying to exercise on a public road. Here is the vid of the C6 it's a little cheesy and the driver short shifted after 1st, but it freaking hooks.

I can't speak for any issues they have had in the past.
I do know that their work on the GT-R is AMAZING.
GTR800
I suppose I will never have to worry about it either way, since I will never be able to afford a new GT-R let alone the Hennessey upgrades.
