GTR spanked the Z06 off the line and all the way through 3/4 mile (by a few lengths at the 1/4). The Z06 nearly caught the GTR at the mile mark and it was the GTR by about a bumper at the mile mark. Nearly dead on.

how was this impressive??
lets see, an AWD car with launch control spanked a RWD torque-monster at the start, however, said torque-monster later caught on...
gee, i reeaallly couldnt see this coming ...

Lol! It usually follows S6devil breath taking explanation. I would have thought it to be more impressive if the Z06 took it off the line. I'm a bit taken back that the GTR still edged him out in the long run though.

OK, well contrary to belief there are some people that can get the Z06 to get out of the hole very hard. On the vette forums, last I saw 2 people had gone 10's completely stock on stock tires. Ranger being one of them. So I'm sure driver skill was a factor.

Driver is the key (like usual on the street) with any joe blow as a driver anything can happen. Considering the amount of ground the Z06 had to make up that GTR would be decimated from a roll. GTR's are darn impressive though and once the Haltech comes out we will really see what they can do.

There is one freaking huge GTR luxury tax on parts though to push 610-630awhp through a GTR will set you back 28-32k installed!! That's some serious freaking coin!!

Wow GTR stuff is really expensive but I guess vendors jack up the prices cause of the price and fame of the car. Don't forget about maintenance as well that will set you back a lot every couple thousand miles. Good vid though

Lastly that video is a bit misleading. The car in that video is a Yaroslav's old car on Corvetteforum.com it's putting down about 520-530whp not whatever crazy number the video says. It used to put down about 65whp more with a huge cam that was taken out for idle characteristics.

I'm still very excited to see what a Haltech equipped GTR will do and what the limits of the car will be. I hate to say it, but I really think it will be the ultimate in a street/strip/supercar ......ULTRA EXPENSIVE TO MOD BUT THE CAR TO BEAT IN A YEAR OR SO

Easily reproduced 9 second packages in 6-9 months in the 138-142mph range with the current turbo upgrade and then lower the boost and still do great at the road course.

I don't understand what you mean? I have a Z06 and get ZERO wheelspin from a 30mph roll and tad on the 1/2 shift.

Here's a vid for you if you can't hook it's the driver and the tire not the car, IMO!! My Z06 won't hook this hard, but it's close, and hands down will destroy my old EVO from any roll speed 10mph and up. I raced a 530whp 35R and pulled 3 cars from 40-140mph last week.

Please disregard the cheesy music etc, but you get the point the car hooks. He short shifts after 1st! My Z is close to this, so if you mean wheelspin your dads friend must be pushing more then 500whp, have crappy tire, crappy driver, crappy road, or some variation of the above because my car hooks and runs! It's obvious that this car with a smaller tire hooks even better!!

i don't think that's impressive either. they are both modified cars. i'd like to see them go stock vs stock. if the GTR can do that stock (which we all know it can't), THAT would be impressive.

I might consider getting a GTR ,adding it to my stable if the next generation one has a different fascia. With that said I heard that the HKS 570 kit cost somewhere at 5 grand which isnt bad. Sh_t just my American Racing 5into stainless steel stepped headers for my Viper cost me $2100 bucks. My buddy with a GTR told me that HKS was coming out with their new HKS600 kit..
