Dig it.... With the ride height, exhaust style and mud flaps gives the car that rally look.

Wheel color works too. That spoiler has always made my eyes hurt though.

People really don't like the stock spoiler.

I like it. I also noticed the outback wagon in the back, I've got a blue one.

Nice car amby, love the color.

I'm getting fairly sick of the lack of power with my Ralliart and would love to upgrade to something like a WRX. The only problem is all I can find is STI's, which are out of my price range.

The Outback is my mom's, my sister has an Outback Sport and my dad has a Jag X-type, four cars bought from the same dealership. Hopefully the next car is free.

Yeah...I've felt that way ever since I first saw them way back when, The lines of the car when wingless look alot better to my eye.

I like it even less when they put the stock spoiler risers on to lift that wing higher up....one of the Subies around me has carbon ones, a little goofy IMO.

But eff it, if you like it more power to ya.... And you can't go wrong with boxer noise.

The outback is just my daily for when my talon is down, but it's hard not to mod it when I drive it so much. So far all I've done is HIDs.... I REALLY want to get an STi axle back, so I can have a little bit more suby rumble without being obnoxiously loud for a daily.

Wingless just doesn't look right to me, the car has too many bulges and flares to pull it off. I agree on risers, they just look goofy.

That's exactly why I went with the Maddad setup, it's a full 3" exhaust but it's still quiet enough for a daily driver. I have yet to have a single negative comment on how my exhaust sounds. I have a track event on the weekend so I'll try to get some video.

I'm curious - Did you dyno it before/after performance improvements? What were the numbers?

Mod list:

Maddad catted bellmouth downppipe
Maddad whisper catback
Custom tune (Airboy)

Whiteline 24 mm adjustable front sway bar
Whiteline 22 mm adjustable rear sway bar
GroupA front and rear endlinks

17x8 bronze Enkei RPF1 wheels
225/45/17 Bridgestone RE01R tires

Ferodo DS2500 brake pads

Rally Armor skid plate

Kartboy front and rear shifter bushings
SPT short shifter

I have various other parts but no point in listing them since they're not go-fast bits.

Parts to be installed:

VF43 turbo
STI top mount intercooler
AEM cold air intake
GroupA pitch mount
Technafit stainless steel brake lines
STI springs
Whiteline ALK
Prodrive EBCS

When the dollar is back on par, I'll likely buy Tokico D-Specs and new springs, maybe RCE blacks. In the far future, meth injection is a possibility but for the most part, I'm not really concerned about getting more power above what the turbo swap offers. I barely boost on the street as it is.

Nice car Amby
I personally like that spoiler a lot more than the STI spoiler. I'm sure the STI spoiler would get you more negative attention from police and other STI owners...

The guy who tuned my car has a spreadsheet dyno. It sounds strange but it determines power based on acceleration, tire size, etc. It's freakishly accurate, his numbers line up nicely with several of the local dynos. You can search Airboy on NASIOC if you want to know more. Anyways, my numbers should be similar to these.

As you can see, the 2.5 L combined with a small turbo makes for wicked torque but power drops off quickly after the maximum.

His parts are top notch, the only issue I had was the exhaust was backordered so I had to wait a month to two months.

For a turbo car that's probably amazing.... since my outback is still NT it would probably be twice as loud.
