boost controller install

can anyone here help me on this?? i recently bought a turbosmart In-Cabin Gated Boost Controller to go on my RB30ET (installed in a torana). i cant make out these instructions properly. it says that the tee piece has to go between the boost source and the wastgate actuator. is this the hose that a boost gauge would normally utilize??? it also does not recommend that any other tee pieces be installed on this hose (including those for a boost gauge), but says that a gauge is highly recommended once a controller is fitted. also it mentions that only silicon hoses can/should be used on a boost line as they would be prone to cracking and failure. i have an autometer 2 5/8" pro comp ultra lite boost/vacuum gauge which came with a sort of thin plastic hose. is this no good once the controller goes in. can anyone please help me. i just dont know where to start on this. if anyone can help out at all, please email me at [ anml_77@hotmail.com ]
any help would be appreciated.
thanx

I am not familiar with that type, but if it utilizes a solenoid, then the solenoid would receive input from the boost source, and output to the actuator. Typically you want to tap into a line directly off the intake manifold for your gauge. This will reflect as close as possible the pressure/vacuum seen at a point closest to the cylinders. Particularly if you are using an intercooler of some sort, tapping into the lines directly off the turbo for your gauge will show a higher reading than that after the psi drop through the intercooler and piping. If the hose is a rigid wall nylon hose, that should be fine, as long as you are careful not to crimp/kink it. You can pick up thick wall silicone hose pretty cheap, or get through somewhere like hosetechniques.com
