Who knows about Galant VR-4's?
Never was a Spyder GSX unless converted to AWD and their numbers are few, only about 10 or so in the country that have become AWD. Spyder 3000gt VR4 isa whole different story.
GVR4s are a whole different beast and most of the GVR4 community will tear you apart if you ever call it a DSM. The US actually got the base model Galant VR4s, there were the;
Galant VR4 - Base model
Galant VR4 RS - aluminum hood with dual vents (just like on a Lancer Evo), extra cooling vent for FMIC on the front bumper, larger FMIC, Larger "yellow top" injectors, TDO5 16g turbo, stronger internal 4G63t Galant VR4 Monte Carlo Edition - RS with upgraded interior features
Galant VR4 Evolution/Evo 0 - Last version of the RS right before the release of the Lancer Evolution. Most of your information on these cars can be found over on GalantVR4.org.
As for what you want to know? It can be a PITA working on the car at times, but I don't regret ever picking mine up. We can use a mix match of parts between 1g/2g and some Evos, for instance with some modification you can have Evo 8/9 front and rear seats - gives it an updated feel you could say, another common swap is the Evo 8/9 Suspension swap which still requires some modding and welding but does work and works great. However, not everything is interchangable with DSMs. General Maintenance is the biggest thing among any car and especially with a 18yr old car it couldn't be more important. If you treat it right you'll get the same in return and I drove my car from Virginia Beach, VA to Oak Harbor, WA back in July. She held up just fine the whole trip of not stop driving unless I needed to sleep.
The average price for one of these cars is going to be at $3k-5k in good shape, decent can be had for 1.5k-3k depending on what is all needed to get the car back in shape or rolling again. Hell a rolling chassis can go for 2k in great shape.
My car can afford very little down time as it is my daily driver, so anytime it has to go down I make sure I have all the parts I need and the time to take care of it all. It's been doing pretty good this far, I've put about 26k in miles since first purchasing the car June 08'. Turbowop has been in the GVR4 world much longer than me and knows much more on them, also has one of the cleanest cars around. I've had dsm friends work on my car with me and it has totally deterred them away from wanting one or ever working on my car again. So it really takes some patience sometimes when you have to work on it, I'll probably buy another one rust free in a few years. Try to find one with minimal rust, mine had a lot and I have had a lot more to deal with than some. When I bought mine, I didn't care about the rust I knew it would be a challenge, but I really wanted one of these and have never looked back. It truly is a Ultimate Sleeper.

dont forget nate pharr's vr4 which is beautiful and fast !!!! he is the one person i would think know the most about them plus hes a very intelligent person if u ever have a conversation with him
Don't forget the optional "smoke screen" with the GVR4!
Gvr4's are cool cars but are old and usally beat to hell and really have almost no value as the owners are usally x-dsmers who are amoung the cheapest people on the face of the planet.
Watch out for rust as they rust and don't really show it on the surface but it hides well.
If you are looking to make one fast remember they are heavy and are about as aerodynamic as the sears tower so dsm's are way better in that respect.
Go to galantvr4.org for more info and you will find many of them under 2,500 with mods but the leather is usally kick *** in those cars.
Claen ones are few and far between, I can think of about 5-7 that are clean out of the hundreds I have seen.
