Out of all of those cars you've listed, I like the TL-S the most. I drove one a while back, extremely comfortable and very quick and fun with the 6 speed.

No worries. It is so easy to take things out of context and make an assumption jump when reading text. Hell, I know I've done it. I try to read things for what they are and not what they could be. Of course, not always guaranteed to keep me out of trouble!

I've always believed if you are going to have a "note" you better enjoy and want the car. If the main goal is speed I don't really see much out there other than a EVO. You could always go used Cobra, STi, Nissan, Honda

I know there isn't anything else out there I would want over a EVO for a all around sports car under 30k. If you wanted to get dedicated then you have options.

Good luck!!

I've got two kids and one of the reasons I went with the Evo was the four doors(was wanting a twin turbo G35). I also agree if you're gonna change cars but stay in the same price range going in a different direction is a good idea. Otherwise why would you change? When it's time for me to move on I'll probably go in the RWD direction. I can say one thing though, I will never go without a turbo again.

Having owned other luxury cars before the evo, made me compare my evo when I bought it new back in 06 and when I was driving it out of the dealership for the 600 mile drive home, I was taken aback and made me think if I made a mistake in buying this new 06 evo IX MR. a professional with wife and 2 kids=what am I thinking? After I arrived home, I stopped driving my luxu car(eventually sold it because it was just in the garage) and never ever thought of driving any other vehicle to work except the evo. It makes you feel what it is like to drive the "real ultimate driving machine!"

drove it for close to more than 3 years, and was looking for some alternate vehicle to compliment my stock evo so it will not get too many miles. nothing really to compare-is the evo godly, yes. choices were a 997 CS or C4 or another evo IXMR(they stopped production already). as for the racer boy image that the CT9A conveys(accdg to some), it was actually the perfect sleeper. an evo parked in the reserve parking deck besides, MB SL, MB S's, 997's, M3's, S8's, aston's, SUV's, etc. was classic

after the evo was crashed, I was assimilated by the masses drives an escalade hybrid now.

Yes, used MB E55. Never been happier, just as fast as my Evo but so much more comfortable. Never get a look from the popo.

Until you get over the 100K range there is not another car I would enjoy as much. The 46g3, mod ability, performance and overall fun beat everything else out there. The "raw" feel is what completes the car for me, I've replaced all bushings in the car with solid or poly and it's even better.

I think if you bought a nice economy car you could be happy. A sort of money saving happy, but happy none the less. Depends on your age though I suppose.

I had to sell my evo earlier this year due to unemployment but ever since i got my new job and bought my FD with the LS2 in it I must say that it was an overall upgrade although much less practical. Then again i am single so it's perfectly practical for me haha.

^that is interesting to hear as I know a lot of people that went for the draw of the 335. I think this is the first time I've that, though.

B6 S4 - Not the sexiest machine, gas hog

BMW
330xi - Not bad in any category, certainly not outstanding in any either
335xi - probably not in the 30k and under range

Honda
Civic Si - Meh

Subaru

Does the Evo truly ruin/spoil you from enjoying other cars?
I own a 2007 TL TYPE S, great car. I have a 6MT, the cars fully loaded reliable as hell and timeless design.

Here's mine

i have a supra and had an r34 GTR, both > evo and under the 100k mark.

i have a 600 whp evo ix mr and a stock evo x mr along with the supra so that is a side by side comparison. i had the GTR at the same time as the Evo ix.

ive owned 2 STi's (04/05) previously and would say they arent as good as either Evo.

ive owned a 04 S2k and as far as fun factor i would say its on par with the evo though not as fast.

as far as the other cars i never owned but have ridden in them.

in the end i would say the only car i miss is the S2K of all of them that i owned...and the GTR of course.
