News from Ford

2011 Mustang GT will be 5.0 with 400 HP. Wonder how much the price tag will be going up? I say base GT will be 32,000. I remember a time when these were affordable. Also, found my car that I traded in for my RA. It ended up at a dealership in Asbury NJ called sports and Imports. Here are some pics of it in there showroom. I kind of miss it, but I still love my RA.

2010 GT was 315. But it would be a really close race.

Ford already has a V8 version of the Mustang called Pernelli edition and is rated at 400 hp N/A so I am the least person to be surpirsed and perhaps one of the first to be informed.

That was a limited version of the previous model. I believe there were only 500 made and it was in partner with Salleen.

Why would anyone be surprised that the new Mustang was going to get a power upgrade after the Camaro SS came out. It's pretty much common sense that when one company steps up, it forces the others to do so.

Why would you be one of the first to be informed of this information? It hasn't been a secret for some time now.

The article I read said 420 hp, wonder what the GT500 equivalent will make now?

I also heard that the current one (post facelift) handles decent, but have not had a chance to test it out. The pre-facelift ones handled like ***.

That will go back and forth. Some manufacturers imposed gas mileage criteria over power. Either way, I think the americans cars are becoming very competitive.

As long as the GT has big power, it will still sell. Plenty of people will buy the V6 and pretend it is the new 5.0 just like they always did

Its still a totally different engine, so the comparing displacements is really meaningless. And its a 3.7L as stated, a DOHC motor from the Lincoln LS, not the ancient wheezy boat anchor V6 they'd been using for the past decade or more.
