Review: Exotics Racing - Las Vegas
I wanted to write up my experience with Exotics Racing in Las Vegas. For anyone who has ever dreamed of driving exotic cars, this is for you.
While down in Vegas last week a good friend of mine, and one of the instructors, recommended I stop by and check out the company and drive some of the cars.
From the website (exoticsracing.com):
I can't say enough good things about the company and the experience. I have done 1 track day and a couple dozen autox events. This one was one of the smoothest operations I have experienced and really prepared amateur drivers as much as possible to wield a $250k+ sports car down a track.
Many of the instructors (two of which are EVOm members! ) and personnel are trained or professional race drivers, no one lacked racing experience or knowledge. You had a choice to drive or ride along in any of the cars. There was a Porsche 997 Carrera S, Aston Vantage V8, 2 LP-560 Lambos, R8, and 2 Ferrari 430s.
The day started out with first choosing your racing package. Expect to spend from $500-1000 - hey it is vegas and how often do you get to track a supercar? Followed by a typical race day drivers meeting. There was a 2 lap drive along in an H2 so one of the instructors could outline the course, braking areas, apexs, ect. Then you waiting to get into your vehicle.
I was lucky enough to drive the Porsche 997 Carrera S and the Lambo LP-560. I also did a ride along for 2 laps in the Z06 while Rudy Ibanez drifted it for 2 laps (that was friggin ridiculous).
Some pics:
I got to drive the orange one
Cliff notes: Exotics Racing is great company and group of experienced individuals. It may be a bit expensive but is totally worth every cent. If you want to track race a super car this is the place to go - aside from buying one
