I think Subaru would be kept as it is, and the name Impreza WRX would be kept too, as its a cult classic car over here and in Japan, so i wouldn't see them changing that too quickly with the sales that been happening

 

Saab could of changed more on the 9-2X to make it look more different from the Impreza. The problem is Saab isn't doing to well so GM is trying to boost sales. With the new 9-3 Sedan and Convertable out has helped a lot. Theres a 9-3 wagon coning too. I've seen a lot of them in NH and ME. The 9-2x Saab is going after the Sport Compact segment. Doesn't that make sense? Saab needed a car to compete with the new Mazda 3 and Volvo S40/S50. Now Saab needs to sell a Sedan version of it.

I wouldn't be surpised to see Subaru's AWD system showup on more Saabs and other GM vehicles. Like on the Saab 9-3 and 9-5. The Pontiac Solstice uses a steering rack from the WRX. It only makes sense to share technology between owned brands. GM is planning to import more Holdens to the States. The 05 Chevy Cavalier replacement is a rebadged Opel Astra III which the Saturn ION is based in. The Saab 9-3 is a sister to the 04 Chevy Malibu.
