Saab X-2

http://www.automobilemag.com/news/0311_92x/

If you hadn't heard, Saab is rebranding the impreza/WRX as the X-2 & importing them as a 2005 model. I am very curious to see what these guys are going to cost. Probably a smart move for Subaru/GM to get a known quantity (WRX/GDA impreza) into the US rebadged & retrimmed upscale. I doubt people would pay $30k for a "normal" WRX, but I bet people will pay it for a WRX with Saab treatment. Good use of platform sharing.

I am also curious as to what this car will look and drive like? It could be a good alternative to the WRX at around $25000.

Incredible... what a fake.
It does look ok from the outside but very much like WRX.
On the otherside, interior is as boring as always and seats are even flatter than before. Saabs are no fun.
Wonder how reliability is these days. As far as I know, it's not too great.

I thought Subaru was independantly owned by Fuji Heavy Industries? Doesn't really surprise me that GM has a stake in them, though. They own part of so many marques around the world that it's hard to keep it straight sometimes.

Ever since they announced this, Ive wanted one. Reason? No one expects a Saab to do what a WRX can do with some serious tuning.....LOL

In a sea of WRX's, it would be nice to stand out....

The 9-2X could be the sleeper WRX.
