Help: Need a DD for college

I started college a couple months ago, I've had friends drive me back and forth from my house to school but it's kind of an out of way drive. Basically just wondering what DD would you guys recommend for me in college.

I was looking at maybe a Mini Cooper S or a Jeep Wrangler (I know two different cars). Basically I want a vehicle that is a manual and somewhat aesthetically appealing. Price is 10k or under. Cheaper the better of course.

Wranglers drive like a bag of *** with a side of ***.

If I were you I'd look for a subaru wagon of some sort. Should get decent mileage and will come in handy to haul **** around.

Corolla is always a good reliable car for college and a beater car. Cheaper than 10K and you can save some money towards other things.

True, but you can do this!

If you do not lift it will ride fine on the street. But if you do not plan to go offroad you may want to look at a Cherokee or something with a longer wheelbase. But you know where I stand...

yep, possibly even a scion XD. 14,500 new a 2-3 year old one may be down close to what you want. . . and get 30mpg no matter what. Not exactly a fun car, but I love mine.
