any of you have a b7/b8 2005- current audi rs4
My evo is leaving me friday, I sold it and I am debating on buying a semi built evo 9 or getting an 2007 audi rs4. Obviously the rs4 is a bit more money all around. Im just looking for some input from the audi owners on the car overall and some input on reliability, maintenance, and such. Thanks for your time.
Unless you are a tech for Audi or know someone who is I wouldnt got the RS4 route, unlike out cars you cant just swap stuff out, the motor will go into limp mode and tuning is going to cost a bunch. Parts are going to cost you an arm and a leg as well! But the RS4 is a bad Mother F......, I love the car, dont have one myself but have driven several. If you do decide to get the Audi you wont be disappointed as long as its running good! And whatever you do DONT buy the convertible!!!!
Audi's are reliable, but you will be paying a good amount if something ever goes wrong/you want new parts. If you have the money or have a good hook up, I would always choose Audi. But an Evo is always a great idea too, obviously!
Edit: Also, if it's an 07, it probably has low miles and might have the warranty, so you'd be much better off than buying an older one/one with higher miles/etc.

If you have really really deep pockets, you could get yourself a supercharger for the RS4, but you're right its a really sexy sexy machine, to bad they don't make them anymore, but the TTRS is coming over here and thats a bad bad bad Bish right there! 2.5 TFSI, hopefully the RS3 comes out here to, I'll be in line for one of those for sure!!

Yeah I had one lined up for $33000 45000 miles but it sold in two days, so I'm still looking. I did see the supercharger for the rs4 the cheapest was 9000 and the hydradrive (belt less) kit is $18000, at 5.5 lbs of boost it ran 0-60 in 3.4 and will do 200 mph. Impressive but too expensive.
I have owned 3 audis in the past. a B6 A4, a B5 S4, and a C6 S6 with the lambos V10 (which, spent a combined 2 months in service, over the 2 years i had it)!
they are anything but reliable! they sound nice, they drive great, but as everyone knows, and as every has mentioned, they cost an arm and a leg to fix. and u will have to fix!
Also, FWIW, an Evo 9 does not drop in value as fast as the RS4 does.
that being said, its a trade-off. the RS4 sounds infinitely better, has more street cred, and certainly is a whole diff ballgame inside.

Idk if it's still an issue but I remember being on some audi forums like audizine and people owning the RS4 had a bunch of problems with carbon build up in the intake manifold at relatively low miles...I believe that was the problem
