I'm a 6323. Avionics tech (hence my screen name) on CH-53E's. I've been in 5 years in November.
Do 250/2500's pull more than 150/1500's given they have the same engine? I'm a little lost when it comes to trucks n such.
A lot of times if not all. A 3/4 ton over a 1/2 ton will have beefier springs and other parts to allow you to tow more w/o upsetting the truck. Even a top of the line Titan needs some bags in the rear to beef up the suspension so the rear end doesnt sag.
If you dont go diesel I would go for at least a 3/4 ton truck. With trailer brakes. That would be plenty. Diesel used to be cheaper and gas engines are getting better mpg. Its cheaper to have a gas truck fuel wise.
