Suggestions on a DD truck

I'm slowly realizing that my Evo is turning into a big build and I'd like to have a reliable truck that can trailer my Evo if need-be. Not looking for a SRT-10 or anything outlandish. I'd like to have fun with it and spend no more than 5-6k. Looking forward to suggestions. 4 wheel drive would be cool too. Thanks

If ur going to be towing the evo alot id go with a diesel a 1500 would just be a pig to tow a car terrible gas mileage and it would be under stress especially a 6k 1500. Look for a diesel truck. I have a chevy duramax it has a box programmer and all the emissions deleted on it. Its got 550hp and 1000tq to the wheels

Buy a diesel truck. I bought a 98 dodge and it pull the evo in an enclosed trailer like it's not there, and it get's reasonable fuel millage (better than the evo!) when I am not towing.

94-98 Ram with the 12v Cummins would be my choice in that price range.

Meh, you don't need a heavy duty truck just to tow an Evo, they don't weigh that much, especially with an aluminum trailer. Personally, if towing is going to be a very rare occasion and for short distances, you'd be just fine with a smaller V6 truck like a Tacoma or Ranger. If you think you'd be towing more often or for longer distances, any full-size base model V8 truck would be more than capable.

So you don't think a base model V8 truck will be getting pushed by the car/trailer vise the truck doing the towing? Will a base V8 stop in reasonably short distances while towing? So your thinking a Ram 1500 or similar would be enough?
