i think, with the choices he gave, its pretty apparent - sporty and attractive - which says he wants to look good going down the road. gas mileage seems to not matter. all those cars, minus the charger, can provide that. id be looking at a challenger over the charger, but if it was my choice to make, id take the camaro or stang.

These would be my picks:

1. Boss 302 - nothing like a factory special and what a motor!
2. Charger (Hemi) - lots of space, easy to drive, and .... well ... what a motor!
3. Ford Focus hatch - the lower budget alternative, decent handling, good utilization of space, inexpensive to own.

(Sorry for the long post I'm just trying to get you guys all the information.) Well I went to the dealer yesterday and first off let me say this. The salesman that I spoke with is an absolute idiot that knows NOTHING about ford, mustangs, and probably cars in general. After I finished test driving the car he popped the hood and began trying to explain things to me like how the mustang could get up to 30 mpg's ect and then went on to say and I kid you not, these were his exact words "well its got the 400 horsepower and 400 tourqes, got your twin turbos, even got the brembos man, this thing is basically a race car". He even stalled it out not once, not twice, but 3 times when he was trying to pull it up... Granted I did stall it out 1 time when we were pulling out but let me explain. Number 1, I haven't driven a stick in 3 years with the exception of my friends evo which was almost a year ago. Number 2, the clutch on the stang was freaking hairpin. Other than the fact that my sales man was an idiot I did love the car (other than the clutch which I can adjust to, and the fact that there were a ton of blind spots on the car.)
Now, the car was basically a base 5.0 with the Brembo package brakes, everything else was standard, radio, no nav, cloth interior, ect. and it was a 2012 model year. before TTT they said they could give me the car for $30,700.98. The only issue I have is that they said they would give me $12,500 for my Lancer, but I owe 14k on it so I would be about $1500 upside down, BUT... normal trade in for my car right now is about $10k so it seems like a good deal.
Here is a breakdown of the charges they gave me.

MSRP - $32,195.00
Selling Price - $30,238.00
Freight - $795.00
Dealer Processing Fee - $200
Tax - $1,123.98
Tire Recycling Fee- $344.00
Total Cash Delivered Price - $32,700.98
(Trade in - $12,500)
Rebate - $1,500

Total Credits - $2,000
Balance to be Financed - $30,700.98

*Also on a side note he said he could knock another $500 off for me being military when I brought my DD214 in but I didn't have it on me at the time.

Here is everything on the car
MUSTANG GT COUPE
2012 MODEL YEAR
RACE RED
CHARCOAL BLACK BUCKET CLOTH
EQUIPMENT GROUP 300A
(OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT)
5.0L 4V TI-VCT V8
6 SPEED MANUAL
FRONT LICENSE PLATE BRACKET
CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS SYSTEM (I don't live in CA, I'm in MD)
3.73 RATIO LIMITED SLIP AXLE
TAPE STRIPE DELETE
BREMBO BRAKE PACK
PREMIUM PAINTED ALUM WHEELS 19"
SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE $32,195
INVOISE AMOUNT $30,272.60

Again sorry for the lengthy post but just trying to get all the info to everyone so you can help out. Thank you in advance for the help and jsut to let you know I am probably gonna go to the Mitsu dealer sometime this week and see what kind of deal they can give me.
*OH and if I buy from this company I can get free oil changes for life, free car washes for life, free emmisions and safety inspections for life, the works.
Thanks in advance guys

I have to agree with most of the comments, the 5.0 is a GREAT value.

1.Frankly I would love to get the Boss but its a bit above my price range, and until the get the Track key issue resolved I'm not even going to consider it lol
2. Let me say, I have ALWAYS been a Mopar, HEMI fan, but until they start offering the charger's in a manual option it's not in the picture, and as far as the challenger goes.... well it's a lost cause, chrysler ruined that car
3. If I decided to go with the Focus I would want to wait until they came out with the st or rs or whichever one it is here in the US
4. Nothing personal against the cars I just don't like the way they're made, power, weight, ect. And while I know the Mustang and EVO are 2 completely different vehicle classes I am just trying to weigh my options here and decide which car is the best fit for me. No, I'm not going to go crazy with modding and so on until the warranty runs out. As a matter of fact I'll probably stick with the big 3 mods, intake, exhaust, and tune for whichever I decide to get.

The big thing that has me leaning towards the Evo is the AWD. Living in MD most people can testify how bad our winters (I know other places are worse but until I joined the USAF I have never even seen snow in my life, I'm originally from GA) can get sometimes and the AWD would be a huge benefit.

No offense to you or anyone else here, but other than the GTR I think they're a joke. The Z is a highly over hyped vehicle (and over priced). Yes, it can perform on the track, yes it can be utilized as a DD even. But I'm just not interested in them.

your disinterest in them doesnt make them a joke. it just means YOU dont like them. the vq series of engines is an awesome family.

But if you "had" to get something now thats american, I'd say mustang. It's been on my list of cars I want next, since I may be selling my evo to get a new car with better gas

I didn't mean that they were a bad car, as I said they are good on track and DD. I just do not like them. And as far as the VQ series of engines, a friend of mine had a either an 07 or 08 NISMO 350 (honestly I don't know so don't jump on me) but he went through 2 engines within a 6 month period. Both were replaced under the warranty (wasn't his fault) the first time I was with him, we were just cruising down the highway doing between 75-80 and started hearing a knocking noise that eventually got louder until we had to pull over. As soon as he came to a stop at the light at the bottom of the off ramp the car shut off and the motor seized up(wouldn't even turn over, nothing) On the new motor he had, I guess you could say it was "kind of his fault" but basically the motor they put in developed an oil leak after about 1500 miles, and well, we all know what happens when you run a motor that has no oil..... Nissan again gave him another engine and then he traded the car in for X. Either way, i wasn't basing my decision to avoid the Z series on that alone, I just don't like the Z series or Nissan in general (again, personal preference).

<grin> Wait, you drive a Lancer and your second biggest objection to a street-legal racecar 40 years in the making is its track key? GMAFB!

FWIW, I live in Upstate, NY where we have some of the worst winters in North America. I've been driving in ice and snow for +30 years. AWD is nice, but nothing and I mean NOTHING can take the place of dedicated snow tires.
