Lexus CT200 hybrid
whats everyone's thoughts on the CT200, im honestly continplating on getting one, i think the styling is very nice, and of course lexus quality is known to be superb. i have been thinking of selling the evo to get one, and yes i know its going be a completely different world going from a car making almost 400hp to something making only a quarter of the power. im specifically fond of the IS-F blue CT 200

Love the car. Drove it, the interior is great! Awesome car, and a very reasonable price!

I looked at these when they just talking about unveiling them and I wanted to get one but I don't know if I can give up my need for speed....I got have something with power. Now if they can bump the power up and keep the fantastic gas mileage I'm game!!! Say like 200hp

Its quoted at 9.8 seconds to 60. The gas mileage is nice at 42 mpg combined but I may need some more oomph.

They arent that slow, they are only that slow in certain modes. I test drove one and it DEF did not take 9.8 second like not even close...You guys understand that when your not driving it soft there is a "power mode" and it has the pep of any other 4 cylinder car...It just doesnt have the best mpg when you do that, my father has a prius to commute in, same thing.

i feel the same way, i love the power of my evo, i still enjoy it but im somewhat interested in getting one of these. the styling i feel is very nice, plus the wagon looks to have some good space in it. we shall see what happens. i still havent been offered enough for my evo yet... so if i dont get what i want for it the evo will stay and i might just say screw it. but that IS-F blue CT is pretty pimp.
It will be awhile until I can pick one of these up though......maybe in another year or two....by then something else will probably come along....maybe I can talk the fiancee into one!!! Bingo!! It's settled!!

One of these has now showed up in my parking garage. It looks absolutely stunning in person; this one is "Pearl" white and the car looks terrific over the chrome wheels.
My only complaint is, that the hybrid running gear was simply lifted from the Prius, more or less. CT200 has 134hp. Instead they should have lifted the hybrid running gear from the Camry, which has 200hp.
Then I heard an "F" version of the CT will be coming out, so I thought they must be going to put the more powerful drive train in it for sure. NOPE! The "F" performance version will simply be a re-badge appearance package only.

I am hating the way these hybrids are being portrayed as performance models as they dont even have the P of performance in them... Yea I know it is a "performance" hybrid but laughable unless we are talking about tesla's or the 918 porsche spyder...
I love the design of the car, looks really amazing in person and the interior is lovely too. Sadly the dealerships dont know anything about it and I was told it was an amazing performance vehicle... I just laughed at the dude telling him I have twice as much power to the wheels and to save the whole performance gig. I wont be able to drive a car like this but if it is for your wife/gf that would be awesome. I like my horses and torq too much.
